FIVE'S IDEAL WORLD: SESSION 1

“Your objective is to convince Number Five that the world is fake, and that he should return to Tokyo F. Find the necessary material to navigate the place in the attachment below.”

ENTRANCE

For those who’ve seen Five’s memories, or even his dreams, the place is immediately recognizable. You find yourself at the entrance of the Hargreeves masion, and from the get go, it already feels unnecessarily big. In front of you there are stairs, leading to the corridors above.

Behind you there’s the door that leads outside the mansion. To your right you can see the stairs leading to the basement. To your left you see the living room. If none of these options appeal to you, you can refer to the map to decide where you want to go as well, and simply follow directions to head there ]

LIVING ROOM/BAR

The Living Room is massive, and packed full of all sorts of oddities. There are skulls, trophies, framed pictures and various oddities on every possible surface, and no space has been left empty. To the very back of it there’s a bar area, where you can go and mix drinks if you feel like. To the side, you can see a fireplace - with a big painting of Five as a child hung above it. There is also a giant picture of Reginald Hargreeves on the other end of the room - but unlike what has been seen in Five’s actual memories, he’s smiling warmly. He looks like a kind, loving figure.

Some of the framed pictures on the tables show people from Imeeji - members of Taisho and Baritones, Kohime, Hurricane and L most notably.

Lined up against the walls are several shelves, mostly are filled with books - but some do have things as mundane as magazines.

As you step into the Living Room, you hear someone calling to you. ]

Welcome back. We were not expecting you so soon, but Master Five did mention you would be visiting. Ah, he must have lost track of time again, immersed in his research as he is. As always you will find him at the Observatory.

UPSTAIRS

Moving upstairs you can see the entirety of the entrance - and the living room, from a vantage point. Lined along the walls there are several portraits. Most of them show the entire family together, and document the children’s growth. Looking at them you have the impression that they’re a happy family that truly loves one another. The kids look happy, and Reginald seems like a loving father in each of them. Notably, in some of the pictures you can spot a very specific guest, though his clothes consist almost always of simple robes, save for a few exceptions in which he’s wearing a suit. A few portraits have only Five and Emet-Selch together, while some other have just each individual Hargreeves sibling. All in all, it seems like they’re an entirely normal family, and nothing shown there makes any allusion to a superhero team - let alone super powers.

From the corridors you can go into … another corridor... leading to the siblings’ rooms, or you can follow the many pictures and head to Grace’s Recharging Station. ]

GRACE'S RECHARGING STATION

Grace’s recharging station appears to be just a sitting area with a lot of beautiful landscape paintings. Among those, there is one that might look particularly odd and out of place, like it doesn’t quite belong there.

In either case, the whole arrangement is stunning and breath-taking, and you’re not the only one who seem to think so - Grace herself is looking at the pictures, smiling. She doesn’t seem to have noticed anyone else ]

ALLISON'S ROOM

When you first step in, you’ll notice that there’s a set of two for everything. Two beds, two desks - and the room itself seems much larger than it should be. The “other" part is a perfectly mirrored reflection of what’s in the actual room, with only a single difference: at the feet of the bed you can read “Vanya". ]

LUTHER'S ROOM

Stepping into Luther’s room makes it immediately clear that as a child, he was deeply fascinated by space. There are maps of the universe, all sort of books on astronomy, and a poster of him as a teenager, with the caption “FIRST BOY ON THE MOON". To your left you can see a vinyl player, along with, like. A ton of vinyl records. ]

BEN'S ROOM

Opening the door to this room leads you nowhere. Behind the door there’s just a wall - painted on to what would LOOK like a room, but it is, of course, entirely fake. ]

KLAUS' ROOM

Klaus’ room is … intriguing … for lack of a better word. There are scribbles all over the walls, colorful paintings and posters hung all over, and the room certainly shows that the person who lived here had an interesting personality. Among all the posters there’s a notable outlier, a framed letter written by Klaus himself, and along with that, a picture. ]

VANYA'S ROOM

Though there’s a bed, this room looks like nobody has ever actually slept in it. You can see a violin stand right in front of the bed, and everything around the room itself seems to be geared toward a study room in which Vanya could practice her craft, rather than an actual room. It’s small, but this was a place made just for her.

Up on the walls there are a few framed journal articles - each about her concerts. It looks like whoever hung them up on the wall was extremely proud of her, and her progress. ]

DIEGO'S ROOM

Diego’s room seems to be completely generic, and if it weren’t for the target hung on the wall, it could be pretty much anyone’s. There’s no specific marker of personality or interest, and even the books thrown together on the bookshelves are completely decorative - they have no title, and opening them will show they’re completely blank. ]

REGINALD'S OFFICE

Reginald Hargreeves was an explorer and an adventurer, and so unsurprisingly his office is full of memorabilia he collected across the world over the years. The decor is odd and, like much of the rest of the mansion, entirely tacky. Instead of Reginald’s portrait behind his office, however, there’s a family picture that seems to have been taken in that very office. All of the Hargreeves children are sitting around Reginald, who is reading out loud one of his many journals and diaries of his adventures.

The desk to your left does seem to have quite a large selection of them. ]

FIVE'S ROOM

The first thing you’ll notice stepping into Five’s room is that the walls are scribbled all over. There’s complex mathematical formulas on every surface that could be written on, and they probably make sense only if you’ve studied time travel with him before. There are some variations to the formula he’s shown to people before, however, though it’s impossible to guess what they’re for. Either way, this is a Certified Nerd Room.

The few posters hung on the wall show giant robots, indicating a childhood interest in them. On his desk, there are a few train and car models, but you can spot a couple of what are essentially gunplas as well.

There’s a small bookshelf, and judging by the titles, it’s all math textbooks. On the bedside table, there’s a mask. ]

SIR REGINALD'S ROOM

Reginald’s room is an absolute mess. There’s books and journals scattered across everywhere, and most notably there’s a ton of clothes, mostly suits, that have been taken out of the closet and laid on the bed. It’s hard to walk in that mess, to the point where it might not even feel worth it to analyze this mess.

On the bedside you can see what’s a diary of some sort, but it’s buried under a gigantic pile of papers. To the walls, you see a collection of framed bugs and butterflies. Next to them, there’s a painting with 7 of these painted on, and a number below each of them - one through seven. ]

SURVEILLANCE ROOM

As you might expect, the surveillance has all the necessary equipment to function as one. There are several monitors each showing a part of the house, and just below each screen there’s a videotape player slot. You can see there are several cabinets that contain years and years worth of footage. ]

THE GREENHOUSE

The greenhouse doesn’t seem to have been used in a while. You can see what was meant to be a fort, built by the Hargreeves children, but whatever plants were being grown there have long since died, and the place has simply not been cleaned up in years. There’s gardening tools, soil, seeds and empty pots if you’re inclined to do a bit of work, but it doesn’t seem like anyone really cares about this place as anything beyond a hiding place. ]

THE ATTIC

As you step inside the attic the first thing you might notice is the open window. From where you’re standing, you see a beautiful and clear sky. Inside the room itself there are a couple of couches, some chairs, and other pieces of furniture that have been stored there and haven’t been used in a while.

Around the room there are also several boxes. ]

OBSERVATORY

The Observatory houses what’s essentially a giant telescope. A short distance away from it there’s a desk, and countless number of notes and journals sitting on it.

There’s a man in his thirties that’s currently in the middle of writing down /something/. He doesn’t seem to notice your presence just yet, and if you pay attention to his hand, you might notice he’s wearing a wedding ring ]

KID'S SPACE

What was once a butcher’s shop has been repurposed as a space for the Hargreeves kids to play and relax in - though it doesn’t exactly look like what a child would think of as a fun place in which to do just that. There’s a large dining table, various refrigerators and what looks like an extremely basic kitchen to put meals together.

The cabinets have various food items - but it’s mostly snacks and canned food. Close by to the entrance there’s a few lockers labeled one through seven. To the very end of the room there’s a billiard table, a couch, and a tv in front of it. Resting against the wall there’s a Bass Guitar. ]

THE INFIRMARY

The Infirmary has all the medical equipment to perform examinations, and provide any emergency assistance whenever needed. The space is clean and organized neatly, and it’s clear it’s being taken care of regularly.

While the places is well lit, shortly after you step inside you hear a click, and the lights go out. ]

THE GARDEN

Located right in the middle of the entire Hargreeves Mansion, the large garden area has plenty of spots in which to read and relax on a sunny day. Too bad that doesn’t seem to be the case when you step outside! Look! It’s raining! Even though the weather looked entirely different while you were inside.

There’s a gazebo under which you can take refuge if you’d like. A short distance away you can spot a statue - but unlike the one in Five’s memories, it’s in honor of Reginald, and not Ben. From the Garden you can also enter the Mausoleum ]

THE MAUSOLEUM

It is probably not surprising that the mausoleum seems to be where dead loved ones are being kept. There are a few, generic angel statues to honor the dead, but the one thing that might catch your attention the most might be the names on those tombstones.
