There's alcohol available, but everything else is locked behind the wall-cabinet. . . the recipe book is also available to peruse at one's leisure.

I don't think that we need to do anything like that... If their father needs to be woken up, then they'd like for him to have coffee to drink, wouldn't they?

Not sure that's how this works. We've run into these guys before, trust me it's not worth trying to fight the system on this. Turning grey is wildly unpleasant.

[ Reading through the recipe book makes her wince, hard. This is going to be really awful, but she learned last time that refusing requests from these shadow things is a bad, bad move. ]

[ It's a really good thing her reflexes are superhuman, because she's shaking at a pretty good clip as she goes through the book and supplies. ]

They really have to force us into this?

It must be coffee, right? But I wonder what sort of secret I could try to share...

I suppose we could give them a coffee soda. It'll certainly wake him up. It also might make his heart explode.

[ This has got to be the least comfortable situation ever. ]

I don't want to know anything, and what we want doesn't matter much with these guys. Probably just pick something.

[ She just wants out of this so they may as well get on with it, ideally with a minimum of continued awkward. ]

Oh well. They're just lucky I'm excellent at making coffee.

"My date is coming any minute now. . . Hey, I know this guy's gonna want to buy me drinks, but I don't wanna get drunk. Could you make me something that looks the part without any alcohol? Extra sour, please—he can't stand drinks like that, so he won't drink any of mine if it's too sour for him!"

Making it isn't the problem, it's what we have to do to get to it. Looks like that's sharing a secret.

It isn't that I don't want to do it, or that I want to do it, or anything like that, but you don't really like these sorts of things very much, do you? So it's fine for me to do it instead - ... I don't really mind it either way, but when it comes to thinking of something that could be shared, I don't really know what to use, you know?

I don't know anyone who does like being forced into sharing things, so I'm not sure I'm all that unique. [ She very clearly takes exception to Dia thinking she knows what Aliza likes and doesn't like. So this is off to a great start. ]

It's probably coffee and the soda water, if the recipe book is accurate. Makes sense, it's caffeine and bubbles.
