HEARTFORGE - LiliS (Session 1)

You are in the heart of a massive forge. In front of you are tools, and your objective is clear - to use them to channel the strength of your heart and create.

What are you creating? Who can say. Only you - and only you'll know if - and when, it's good enough. The stories before you are not yours right now, but you'll make them yours soon enough.

And you will survive.

[ The townsfolk outside tell a story - they ask for salvation, to be protected from the coming storm. Only you and your compatriots can save them. An item of offense is what they need, and the story they tell reflects the refuge they seek - you need only fill in that which is left unspoken. ]

There once was a woman who sought revenge above all else. Someone had stolen her {memory/event} and her {memory/event}...

In time, the woman got her revenge by sealing her target, along with her own {memory/event} in an {object}. The woman was safe, and over time she began to feel {emotion}.

But unwilling to let her enemy go, she held onto the accursed reminder. She would never forget {memory/event}.

Not until the day she died, with {emotion}.

You may also share additional memories/events or emotions independent of the story to bolster your object.

[ Reading through them as well, mulling over possible options. He needs to be cautious with this from the start. ]

I wonder how detailed we're expected to be. [ inwardly cringing ]. . . Probably the more, the better?

This feels a bit similar to that one drink mixing one.

[ Curious and cautious is what's flowing from Aster right now, especially as he reads over the story. ]

This is looking a bit more serious than last time...

So... we just need to finish the story! That seems easy enough!

It does, yeah. [ But hey! Have a little bubble of anxiety, which doesn't really match the crooked smile. ] Only we're making a weapon instead of drinks.

Mm... there are a lot of key parts of the story missing.

[ Everyone's INWARD CRINGE is also their outward cringe in this game, so he gets a concerned glance. ]

Well — for memories, we're probably just supposed to share 'em the same way we did in the drinks game—

It seems like it's a pretty dark story too.

[ Aster's running on curious and cautious... but adds a confusion to that list for a moment at the sudden anxiety and mistrust reverberating in him. ]

I'd rather hope it doesn't actually get used.

[She shakes her head.]

It sounds like she was in a lot of pain. But I don't think she was a bad person. I think she probably felt bad about it too, in the end.

Mmn. It must have been something pretty important to her if she was willing to go that far.

[ Very apologetic— ]

And. It's looking like the empathy-bond part isn't... voluntary this time.

[ Curious and Cautious are probably better responses to have, and they blend right into the anxiety, but confusion does not. If there's one thing Lupine isn't feeling right now, it's confused. So — pausing. And looking up at Aster. And then around at WWX and Persi. ]

.........A lot like the drink-mixing game.

[ Sorry, Aster, this was not a response to the thing you just said out loud, but at least he's working to tamp down on all of his negative feelings now. ]

We could try to help her as much as we can with her story.

Maybe she can find peace, if her story is told.

I don't think she was a bad person. She probably felt sorry for what she did. And I think... maybe a little lonely, in the end...

Eh — good, bad... [ Lupine shrugs a tiny bit, looking over the story again. ] Agreed on the pain, though. And... I think regret? Or something. Something that should've made her think about releasing her enemy, but in the end it wasn't enough.

Regret and... maybe... loneliness.

Maybe that person was someone important to her. No-- I'm sure they had to be in some way, if she felt that hurt by them...

[ That — sure does reverberate unpleasantly in him. Lupine blinks. ]

Or else what they stole was just that important.

[ Why is he Devil's Adocating here, he doesn't disagree. ]
