HEARTFORGE - pep!pep! (Session 2)

You are in the heart of a massive forge. In front of you are tools, and your objective is clear - to use them to channel the strength of your heart and create.

What are you creating? Who can say. Only you - and only you'll know if - and when, it's good enough. The stories before you are not yours right now, but you'll make them yours soon enough.

And you will survive.

Yeah, I guess that does seem like the right tone to match this story...

@LAVA: Weapons are mechanisms of defense.
@LAVA: They are forged in and of flame.
@LAVA: Any motive has the potential to ignite and become an inferno.
@LAVA: Even sad ones.

@LAVA: If i am doing well at understanding humans so far,
@LAVA: Sometimes it is especially sad ones.

...yeah, something like that.

After all—no one really likes fear, but it's a survival mechanism. And most people, deep down, really want to survive.

@LAVA: Fear is a survival mechanism.
@LAVA: i never thought about it that way.

[THIS STORY IS EXTREMELY RUDE.]

Usually weapons aren't for storms. Takes a pretty big offense to make weather obey.

I'm guessing it's a metaphor, because basically everything here is a metaphor.

I guess it's not very... romantic or noble to talk about it that way.

Yeah—hard-working, possessed of likable qualities, unassuming. I'm picturing an unassuming person.

@LAVA: Weapons can take any forms.
@LAVA: So can storms.
@LAVA: i am a weapon (shield),
@LAVA: and i have stopped storms.
@LAVA: i am the fire that protects.

Re: DISCUSSION

She wanted things to make sense. The only way to get a status quo is to not make it obvious you're asserting the status quo. Unassuming would do that. Or at least nothing highly individualistic.

Which would probably make it hard to maintain any of those relationships.

Basically, if you rely too much on them to hold up the world.

Usually the only way to deal with weather was to shield against it back home, though it takes some...serious creativity to make those effective offense.

We could always burn the storm away.

[He's been having A Time.]

That's right. If you don't exist as a person, then you won't matter to people. But existing as a person makes it a lot harder to do things on the bigger stage. I don't know if there's a way to maintain both of those.
