[ There is one sentence in the rules when you wake up. ]

Escape the mansion and bring evidence of the one responsible for this incident, or die trying.

[ For as long as the game is running, idols will only be able to access the rules on their phones. They may not text/call, nor may they take pictures.

Unit abilities are off. Items are off. Each idol can hold up to 3 items at a time maximum. ]

[ The room's stench is the first thing you notice upon waking up: it's an unpleasant mix of incense, smoke, and metal. Although the room is poorly lit, the light from the hanging wall lamps show that the room is quite big . . . and quite crowded.

Not with living people, of course. You find yourselves surrounded by corpses, mutilated beyond recognition. Vaguely humanoid shapes and limbs indicate these used to be humans—probably. . . ?

The metal smell is more easily identifiable as blood, now—though even if you could not make the connection, the floor is sticky with pools and rivers of red, so it's quite easy to tell that these—people?—met their end right here.

Yet, you won't find even a drop of blood on yourself, or even near your body. In fact, the carnage is absent on both your clothes as well as the ground immediately surrounding you, which is just as well because the blood would have otherwise obfuscated the white-chalked summoning circle that surrounds the idols.

You're situated in the center of the room.
Against the north wall is a table, where there are two oil lamps and a number of other things, though you'll have to get closer to really inspect them.
Against the east wall is a running fountain pool of sorts—the stench of blood is strongest here.
Against the south wall is a large portrait, though without coming closer, you can't make out who those people in the portrait are.
Against the west wall is a closed wooden door. ]

It seems your arrival was not entirely without injury, however: Lupine will find themself situated in the very center of the summoning circle, atop of various sharp implements—the murder weapons, perhaps?

While the idol can safely extricate themself for the most part, there's no avoiding the sharp blade that scrapes their shoulderblade. The injury itself is negligible, both in deepness of wound and depth of pain, for it's strangely rather numbing . . . for now.

As time progresses, the idol will begin to exhibit the following symptoms:

Weakness/numbing of limbs
Fever/chills
Dizziness/mind fog
Difficulty moving or staying awake, sluggishness

[ cool great he loves it ] [ the very first thing he's going to try to do before moving is use Juniper Tree, so that's a clear No on unit powers. ]

Sooooo.

[ Favoring his shoulder a little, he's gonna start looking around. ]

[ What happens if he pokes the summoning circle. Like, smudges through the line, breaking it. ]

[ he gives a concerned frown for lupines injured shoulder. ]

Mmh-- ... I'm going to assume that it's not going to be as easy as going out that door.

[ For whatever reason, the chalked markings are warm to the touch. It's in a language you can't read or recognize . . .

It doesn't seem to smudge, either. Strange! ]

[ Don't be silly, Tenn, this is fine*. ]

Probably not. [ Off the circle, and the corpses, ] Seems like someone went to a lot of trouble to get us here.

[ [citation needed] ] [ Checking through his phone...... ]

No powers, no infranet, just "escape with 'evidence' or die trying".

Nice of whoever to leave all the weapons in a big — pile.

[ Very much talking to himself as much as to Tenn. Eyeing the weapon pile, actually. Can he extricate anything from that pile without a lot of trouble? ]

Escape "the mansion". Not "this room". There's definitely a lot more to this place.

[ Looks like it! They're all a little dinged up, all except for a chainsaw which. . . uh, definitely looks like it was used recently. ]

[ ...................................well, he likes swords and he likes axes, this is... sort of... similar????? No, this is extremely Evil Dead. But he'll take that, thanks. Put it wherever items go. ]

Sure, why not.

[ And, uh, let's go north to check the table, but Lupine is extremely ready for something very bad to happen the second he exits the summoning circle. Like, say, more Evil Dead. ]

Yeah, for sure. [ Shading his eyes a little, for what good it does him. ] Door over there, table over there...

[ Pile of weapons right here, so. He has a chainsaw now apparently. ]

[ Nothing happens, man. Those corpses are corpses.

The table has two oil lamps, which you can pick up and carry with you. There are additionally a couple matches and an open book. . . .

The book is completely written in, from front to back, with a long list of names and pictures—presumably portraits belonging to the names—though the current page it's open to is unreadable now on account of the blood spilt all over it. At least you can read the page number: 201. ]

[ sighs. ]

I suppose we take those, in case we can't escape and need to set the house on fire in some sort of display of self-immolation in defiance?

[ Look, he's absolutely paranoid, but these games are also absolutely out to get him, so??????? ] [ Ew, a book. He's going to pocket that after only the most cursory of glances, because it's covered in blood and portable, so it seems evidence-like to him. Tenn can read it, if he wants.

Also picking up the lamps and the matches. Tenn can definitely have one of them. ]

[ He'll pass one of the lamps right to you, and also the book. Enjoy! ]

Or the lamps go out, or....

[ It's a little disappointing that none of these items have IC descriptions. :|a How's he supposed to know if they're giving him an agility boost! ~~We kid.~~ ]

[ It doesn't smell any more pleasant when you approach it. The liquid is murky, thick—it's hard to tell how deep or shallow the fountain runs. ]

[ sighs.

he sticks his hand in it. ]

[ ...Fair. Frankly the chainsaw should take up a lot of inventory space. He definitely only wants to wind up with CHAINSAW, LAMP, MATCHES, so what if he tosses the book to Tenn and ferries one lamp over, then comes back for the second lamp? Does that work?

Once it's all resolved, south to check the portraits. ]

Now that you're closer to the portrait, you can see it's. . .

. . . your unit?

Rather, not just the members of your unit—there are people in this portrait that you may not recognize, but everyone is wearing your unit's fashion, so you can safely assume they're all past members. It's a lovely painting, all things considered, but maybe this setting is not the most lovely place you could be seeing it in. ]
