TABOO: Friday session
HOW TO PLAY:
- At the start of the round, everyone draws a card.
※[OOC note: if you get a card that has a concept that is completely unguessable to some portion of Imeeji (eg., “Cancun”) please keep drawing until you get a more universally understood concept (eg. “waterfall”)] - At the top of the card is a word in RED (the Keyword) followed by five BANNED WORDS (Taboos). The object of the game is to get the other players to guess the keyword by giving them hints. However, your hints may not include any of the taboo words.
- For example, when describing the keyword "baseball" you may not give any of the taboo words "sport", "game", "pastime", "hitter", "pitcher", or "baseball" itself as clues. You may not say a part of a "taboo" word; for example, using "base" in "baseball" is taboo. Nor may you use a form of a word; for example, if the keyword was "wedding" and the taboo words are "marriage", "bride", "groom", "nuptials", or "honeymoon", the words "marry" and "bridal" would not be allowed.
- You may only use speech to prompt the other players; gestures, sounds (eg, barking), or drawings are not allowed. Singing is permitted, provided the singer is singing words rather than humming or whistling a tune.
- The hints may rhyme with a taboo word, or be an abbreviation of a taboo word.
- The other players may make as many guesses as they want with no penalties for wrong guesses. The first person to correctly guess the word gets a point, and you get a point as well. However, if nobody guesses the word, neither of you get points. If you say a taboo word, you lose one point.
※[OOC note: Once someone guesses the word (or at game end, whichever comes first), please reveal the taboo words so it can be verified they were not used accidentally.) - Everyone may continue guessing until game end. At the end of two hours, whoever has the most points wins. Turn in your score here.
