Well... I've had enough of that. I'm tired of seeing all of you suffer. All of you, with your talk of self-sacrifice and ideals... I can't ask you to put yourself in danger for my sake, though. I don't want to see you in danger, and you don't even have a weapon. Besides, you'll need to eat something to regain your health... You should go to the village and spend the night there. There are no hotels in Rulid, but if you speak to Sister Azalia at the Church, she will help you.

[You make your way back to the road (hopefully without much trouble).

When finally approach the entrance to the village, which is a perfect fit for the Japanese idea of what a medieval European village should be, a young man appears seemingly out of nowhere, blocking the way between you and Civilization. He rests his hand on the hilt of his sword and glares at you.]

A stranger? What’s your purpose?

I am looking for a place to be put up for the night, as it is freezing out here.

[ gestures, unnecessarily, to the air around them ]

Huh. Fine, you can pass.

[he moves]

Why're you all the way up here, anyway? We don't get many visitors this up in the North.

Unfortunately, I lost my way. This was the nearest road I could find, and I followed it here.

How do you get lost so bad you end up in another village? Guess there's dumb people everywhere, eh? Go in, boy, you're in luck. You're in time for the festivities so you'll get free food and drink tonight.

[ his jaw tightens, but he doesn't shout at him. He does make an annoyed sound tho, clicking his tongue. ]

Tch! In any case, where do you recommend I head?

The Church is your best bet, but I dunno if they'll take a grown man like you for the night. It's just women and children there.

[ lowers his head, respectfully, at getting the information. ]

I suppose there is no harm in checking. I will be on my way.

[ he meant to ask more for directions, but. ah, well, he should find it ]

[The main street seems to lead to main square, and also to the tallest building in the village-- you can see it from where you are, and it looks like a church! There is a big bell on top of it. You can also go right, although you have no reason to do that, or follow the smell of bread if you're hungry, but you're Shu so rustic bread is probably not for you.]

[ croissants are one of the two foods he likes, but yeah, he'll be heading for the church. ]

[Maybe you can try going there later if you have money...

The church looks a little smaller than it did from afar, and less grandiose than one would expect. Its doors are closed.]

[A few minutes after the knock, a stern-looking woman opens it. She is dressed as a nun, gasp, shock.]

Yes? How may I be of assistance?

I need a place to stay the night. Do you have rooms I could be put up in?

[She looks at him in silence. Then, she closes her eyes.]

Very well. If it is for one night, you are welcome to stay with us. I will not turn away someone in need.
