[He goes out the door and finds himself back in the basement again! The door he just came through is fading in real time, and he'll find that the basement is... intensely cold. So much that there's frost on the same random items and furniture he saw when he first came down here.]
[He can find the way he entered the basement fairly easily! But the door is, well, completely frozen. In fact, it might as well be made of ice...? Part of the wall around it, and some of the steps, are also frozen.
If he plans to go up those steps normally, he'll have to roll 1d2 and hope he doesn't slip on the ice and fall down the stairs. Definitely unideal!
[ when no response comes, he casts about the room, finally paying attention to the items in the basement. Would there happen to be any matches, flint, anything of the like that would help thaw the place out? ]
[Nothing that convenient! There's an oil lamp, but no way to turn it on. If he looks REALLY HARD, he'll find... an old, moist and useless box of matches. Frost is bad.]
Disgruntled, Shu is going to do his best to get a grip on the wall before he walks up the stairs, hopefully it helps some because the power he has isn't much use in this situation.
[Good! He walks up the stairs and finds himself in front of the door! And now that he's looking at it more closely, he can tell that it has no lock. It's just a door, if doors were ice blue, frozen, and radiated coldness on the regular.]

There are a lot of things that seem to be made of crystal on some of the old tables that make the room hard to walk in, and even some on the floor, including what looks like an ancient milk jar (full of milk) (this is probably a health hazard). There's a closed chest, the oil lamp and the ruined box of matches, moist books, clothes...]
[He'll have to insist to get it open, but the chest will open with a loud creak to reveal... toys. There are many toys in this chest, how did they all fit in here? They all look worn and... loved, like they were important to their owners at some point.

[ He is very careful, combing through the chest. Antiques must be treated with care, beloved toys even more so. He puts them aside, one by one, looking for the origin of the blue light. ]
