[huh... wasn't expecting some of those stats to change the way they did. still doing okay though.
fox takes a moment to wipe the blade on... oops. covered in blood. WELL. he'll try to clean it as best he can before sheathing it.
and head into the cave to explore what's here]

[When he walks past the goblin's body, which should be mostly transparent by now, he might see a key glowing in a light blue color where the body used to be...!
Regardless of the key, this cave tunnel is deep and pitch dark. Please roll 1d2 for balance!]

| Item: Key |
[The tunnel is long and cold-- and when you finally reach the light at the end of it, the world on the other side of the cave looks as if there were holes in the very fabric of its reality.
Does this sound familiar? Well, it should. This cave tunnel leads outside of Shinjuku Station, and you are now looking at Imeeji as was right before the trial. However, you are not flickering, or in pain, or even in monochrome. The rest of the world is.
You have not stepped outside the cave yet.]
This is...
[reaches a hand out towards the monochrome Imeeji, without stepping over the threshold]

[Your hand flickers... It's also even colder out there.]
| Your life decreases by 5. |
[jerks his hand back, ow. fox makes the executive decision to NOT go into the bad place. he is going to head back through the cave (using Makes Perfect to keep his balance) and look around for something he could put this key into?]
[There isn't anything in this room, but he hasn't checked the right and left tunnels yet! ]
[okay, checking to make sure no more goblins are around, he'll head into the right tunnel!]
[There don't seem to be any more goblins around! You'll have to be careful with every step you take though, because this tunnel is so cold it's not just ice-- there's frost on the floor for added difficulty. It’s also completely dark. And long.
But you don't fall because you know how to do this by now, and also because Nadeko has the dokis for you!
After a while, you see a very low light further ahead. Once you get there, you can see that it’s actually coming from a door-- the one that glows in a light blue color, though it's fading in real time.
There is another door next to it. This one is frozen solid.]

[do either of these doors have keyholes?]
[DOOR OPENS!!!
You can see nothing inside, you can hear nothing, it's pitch black. Are you going in anyway?]

[You go in!!
When your eyes get used to the change from complete darkness to the dim light in this room, you realize that you're now inside a house. There are three children sitting on the floor, looking excitedly at an old man who's sitting on a chair. It’s warm and it smells like someone who knows what they're doing is baking something. You've seen these children before-- it's a blond boy, a blond girl and a black-haired boy.
The blond boy, a child version of Sol, turns around to look at you, and glances at the other two as if to ask them what to do about you. But they are too interested in the old man’s stories to pay attention, so he gives up and stands up to greet you on his own.]
Who are you? Did you come to hear my grandfather’s stories too?

[for a moment fox just kind of... stares at them all, blinking. when baby sol speaks, he snaps out of it]
--oh. My name is Fox. I was looking for something... well, I suppose I've found it. This is your grandfather's house?

[he nods! cutely.]
My grandmother, parents, and my brothers and sister live here. [then, as an afterthought] It's my home, too.
Your name is Fox? Like the animal?

[he kneels so that he's at eye level with sol]
Indeed. I am quite fond of foxes. Will you introduce me to your family?

I've never seen one! I heard there are some in the city. Maybe I'll see a fox when I grow up, if I get the swordsman Calling...
[then-- he looks to the side, as if what he said is bad. but no one seems to have heard. he sighs in relief]
Are you here to meet my family?
