Taisho Roman Revolution

When the game starts, you find something grabbing onto your ankle and dragging you under the ballpit until you find yourself sitting on a disco floor platform with your team. It is only being held up by eleven balloons.

You make decisions on a cool arcade machine where you can SELECT A TEAM'S BALLOON. If a character is blind or has no hands or smth, you can assume things can be read to you and you can automatically pick through your speech. Thanks, Alexa.

If you look over the platform, you can see a lot of sparkling rainbow spikes below.

[ Standing in front of the arcade machine, back to it— so no one can insert a decision without there being discussion first. Then he'll move. ]

Do we all understand what is at stake?

I assume they are trying to make us kill each other again.

Correct. Any unit that fails to be avoided by other units and fails to sufficiently protect themselves will be impaled on the spikes below.

Which leaves us the question: whose lives are we willing to risk for the sake of our own?

For now, I request that Future is Now, Heart Soldier and Wild City are not among our choices.

And among those, whose balloons we might be most likely to pop successfully?

Are you suggesting we target those unlikely to protect themselves?

For this round, at least, we ought to be able to avoid them.

Just out of those we are willing to consider.

Who do you want to avoid, Sol?

. . .

I know this will only make these decisions harder on us, but let us discuss our priorities as a while. Should we survive in a half-hearted way, we are likely to be eliminated in the last round if enough others have not been eliminated before us. In that case, is it not better that we play conservatively, knowing the fate that awaits us is one we are unlikely to avoid?

Or, if we play for the betterment of others, should we not be aiming to eliminate those who would prefer not to have to suffer through this farce and dirty their hands? Should we be eliminating those who we know will choose with the intentions to bathe themselves in blood?

Let us discuss this first. The foundation will clarify the specifics.

I have decided to dispense with them. There is something else I ask we consider.

... We cannot depend on others to protect us. We know that much. And I do not think slaughtering the "kinder" units is preferable when we have seen that they are just as willing to go to extremes for their survival. Thus, I have no problem targeting those who relish the fight.

. . . Yeah. I don't want to target the teams that would be more likely to cause less harm to others. That would be like telling those who play hard that they're right in doing it.

Then the units most likely to play hard are BARiTONES, avante en garde, and ☆zrael from what they've shown us recently.

We can only target them each once. If we presume this will last three rounds, that is one unit each round. Is that an acceptable strategy? They are all likely to be attempting to take out three other units each turn.

We'll probably be one of the first to go, so... if we're trying to help, maybe we should try to take out one of them seriously, so that units that play that way have less of a chance to win.

I'd choose Baritones.

I, too, would choose BARiTONES.
