[right before it should switch to voice mail it connects--there's the sound of obvious fumbling before any voice]

We got shoved in freaking jail, dude. For trying to escape or some junk. Some of us get one free call and Moonmoon already tried to shank one of the guards.

There's "angels" guarding the cell. Intensity said I should try to call Pythia or Exael or whatever but it didn't work. Is everyone over there okay? Nobody's dead, right?

[some rustling]

Are you in Heaven jail or Hell jail? Maybe we can bust you out.

I don't know, dude. These guys're stingy with answers. They were saying something about like-- getting reviewed or whatever for bail I guess?

You see anything that could house an elevator? This place seems like it's bigger on the inside, but the whole cell definitely moves. Everything's all black and neon.

[There is a very loud scraping and noise; Nemesis curses lightly before muffling the phone]

[Another loud noise, like crunching metal and screaming birds]

[Continues to be loud feedback in the background, and muffled voices, including hers]

Yeah I uh-- sorry, for being like, missing and junk, I took the wrong train and then somehow it was like two days later--

[ but. she'll quiet and listen to the background noise, anxiously, until nem is back. is that. angel noises??????? what the fuck ]

[It should sound kinda familiar, huh. The timbre of some of the squawking in the background should as well]

[Nem returns before too long, voice soft, like she's got the phone cupped for privacy]

Hey, so, Elly's here; says you aren't on our ship, though. I'mma see what I can find out. Like--how'd you get there, what's it like? Are you alone? You sure you're okay?

[ WITH. SOME ACTUAL RELIEF. ]

They're with you guys? Holy smokes. And yeah, m'pretty sure we're like... at the edge of the city, or something...? No, uh, loads of people are with me. We got uh-- Intensity, Maki. Moonmoon, Talon, John, Kohime, and... Doodles. Think we got "caught trying to leave". 'Side from that and what I told you before, there's not really much to tell you.

I guess... Seems like this's their flagship--like the bridge on a sci-fi spaceship? Was this weird stained glass window touchscreen wall, you could like track the demon level and stuff. Were gonna take pictures and stuff but the phones don't work. Kind of another reason I was surprised to hear your voice.

There's a little window here too but can't see nothin' out of it... only panel in here is an eye scanner the angel dudes use. And this phone room.

[ pauses for a moment. ]

Yeah. Ours work but no calls, not properly-- missed you, Kitty. Gonna do my best to come find you guys.

[hesitates for half a beat more than natural before pushing on]

It wasn't really intentional, it-- I dunno, maybe I got pulled for some sort of "lost in the city" show or some dunk, I dunno how that garbo works, just had a lotta trouble getting back. I woulda told you if I could. ... 'course I woulda. M'not gonna just leave you wondering.

... think my time's just about up. Don't get hurt, okay? Make sure Dia doesn't do anything stupid if that jerk suit guy tells her to. And tell Manny that he's gotta help you with anything you need otherwise I'm gonna whoop his butt. And don't let Hurricane break his legs doing something dumb.
