[ Flinging the gravity bomb as the last one swoop in, dex 17 ]

[It is pretty mad, though; coming in to counter, though with an 18 you are just fast enough to avoid its reaching claws.]

[It's hanging on by a thread, but it still has a little life left in it]

[With the last of its strength, it lunges for her with its claws extended, 24 (dam 3)]

[ Snarling as it dives back in, ducking out of the way. And then, of course: GRENADE CHUCK WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE

Dex 25, dmg 7 ]

S-Sabre... Thank you—!

[He throws one more shuriken but his vision is blurry, only gets a 16 dex (dam 3)]

[With the grenade Sabre just threw its way, the creature goes down in a puddle of black blood, twitching until it falls still]

[ Before it can manage to get Wednesday, though--there's a red blur getting in the way. Unarmed: all weapons dropped by the wayside, where she left Levi. ]

[ Its claws rake into her back, drawing large amounts of blood--and she sinks to the ground, chest heaving. Not dead, but close. Purpose almost served. ]

[ Sabre whips around once Cobalt kills the last one diving them, assessing the scene and deciding it's pretty shitty.

CHUCKING A GRENADE OVER THERE, bless her aim.

[It shrieks and writhes, clawing at the air as it struggling in a growing puddle of its own black blood. At last, finally, it is still.]

[There isn't much intelligence in those slick, reflective black eyes, but the creatures seem to have a sense of self-preservation, at least.]

[Those remaining spread their wings and, shrieking, disappear back into the bloody sky.]

[Moments later, there is not trace of the disturbance. The afternoon is mild, the sky clear and blue.]

[The priest has disappeared, seeking cover during the ray; the church doors are now barricaded.]

. . .

[ Drops the remaining (unprimed) grenade and lets it roll away. ]

WHAT WAS THAT?!?!?!

[ Just kind of sinking to the ground in exhaustion. ]

. . . . . . . Hurricane.

[ That's a lot to carry in your heart. ]

I have no words.

. . . How did you . . . ?

[ HE'S.... Kind of really impressed with her badassery? ]
