Flowers of Heaven: pep!pep!

Strange: there's a pile of pencils, pens, and crayons at your feet. Where did that come from?

As soon as you take notice of them, though, they move of their own accord, caps popping off to draw into being a collection of simple, animate doodle people. They can’t talk, but instead begin hurrying off in their wobbly way toward an arched doorway that has opened in the thick brambles and leads to a winding path beyond, waving their arms in the air for you to follow.

Once you cross through, a gate closes behind you, and the voices of your fellow idols fade from your ears. It seems as if you’re on your own, now.

❀ ❀ ❀

Here, the brambles that surround your path seem to be hung with old newspaper clippings and photos, all too faded with age to properly make out.

It seems that the doodle people are carrying some things for you: a collection of sixteen different flowers, a small lantern of blue flame, and a wreath woven from clematis, chamomile, and mimulus flowers.

Thank you, Glacies. I'm going to see if I can't keep track of this to make it a little easier on us.

I think the greatest obstacle is deciding which of us to protect and what to protect that person for. By the end, it will be clearer, but for now . . .

Mm. I think we should do our best to protect ourselves as much as possible, because other units will accidentally or, perhaps, purposefully burn our flowers, hurting us, so we'll have to be more careful as we move further through.

It could not be done with intention, only in the hopes of protecting themselves and others.

Considering who is most likely to burn flowers and what traits they have, we ought to pick something they are unlikely to have. Or a unit may burn one of their singular flowers while having someone wear the crown to protect themselves while sacrificing others.

I guess I just meant that looking at who among them had a specific flower they could, yeah, wear the crown, burn that flower, and get rid of similar people. That's sort of like doing it intentionally, but... [ shakes his head. ] I digress.

We have 8 choices if we're avoiding ourselves, and then we have the crown.

Do you have any suggestions, Glacies?

With the first path, I would say to protect Chamomile. The second is more difficult to respond to . . . And I cannot determine which unit would use it.

Ah, and I don't believe we should burn any flowers unless we're trying to end the game quickly.

[ nods, listening. ] ...I guess we're not going to have to worry about collateral damage from this, since I doubt most people would have thought of this. So we'll just protect chamomile this round, and then see what happens for the next?

[ assuming he's understanding this right. ]

Our plan, you mean? It may come to a few other units. Avante or Heart Soldier Senshi, perhaps.

I would appreciate whatever thoughts you have about units that would use the protect-and-burn tactic, though. As well as if you have any ideas about what trait, that is flower, would be most uncommon for FiN, Baritones, and Zrael.

...ah. [ now i get it. wow. i'm sorry. ]

If I'm being honest... I think that might be it. alcheME! might do something to mitigate damage, but they're also pretty unpredictable. [ unsurprising. ]

Clematis, maybe? Water Lily also kind of comes to mind... except in the case of that new Zrael, who I don't think I've ever actually seen.

Hollyhock, though we... both have that one. I guess we'd have to play the round by ear if we decided to choose that, which... [ sounds difficult. ]

Mm. With those three, I worry most for Chamomile now. So, let us try that and hope.
