Flowers of Heaven: Heart Soldier Senshi

There’s a peeping and chattering overhead.

Fluttering down to greet you are a number of small and colorful creatures—almost like fanciful stuffed animals, except definitely fully alive and somehow capable of flight despite most of them not being winged. Cooing in a way that is unarguably adorable, they circle around your heads curiously before heading towards an arched doorway that has opened in the thick brambles, leading to a winding path beyond. They then chirrup at you insistently, waving their tiny stubby arms for you to follow.

Once you cross through, a gate closes behind you, and the voices of your fellow idols fade from your ears. It seems as if you’re on your own, now.

Here, the brambles that surround your path seem to hide the distant glitter of stars in their shadows, and some of the thorns have been replaced with colorful plastic.

It seems that the magic creatures are carrying some things for you: a collection of sixteen different flowers, a small lantern of blue flame, and a wreath woven from lotus flowers, blooming Star of Bethlehem, and stems of wild oats.

THE SECOND OBSTACLE

The path continues, the brilliance of the blue flame dying out with the last of the burnt flowers.

You're not sure how long you've been walking when you reach the stone doors. They have a heavy, ancient look to them, and are inset into an equally ancient-looking stone wall. At the center of the doors is what is probably a pair of massive handles... but they're densely overgrown with wickedly thorny briar roses which grow up along the stone, reaching even over the top of the wall.

The colorful plush creatures look upon the doors mournfully, inspecting them for any way to pull away briars, but it seems beyond their ability. Once again, they offer the blue-flame lantern, the collection of flowers, and the wreath: something must be sacrificed.

Don't bother. I'm not worth it. [ she's going to shoo them away as carefully as she can, because she's not interested in hurting them, especially if they're trying to help her. ]

I'm going to get out. I need to get out of here right now. [ this is hell. this is literally hell. she grabs a hold of the handles once again, but this time she's going to attempt to climb up the thorny brambles... though it'll probably go as well as that first attempt, ie bad. ]

[ Regardless of which flowers you placed in the lantern, the following flowers suddenly go up in vivid blue flame:

Vervain
Clematis
Chamomile
Wild Rose
Hollyhock
Mimulus
Water Lily

The fire has an unnatural feeling to it; when it leaps to the roses twining around the handles of the door, they aren't so much burned as unmade.
And the path carries on. ]
