Taisho Roman Revolution

[ Everything fades to black...and you awaken in an opera house.

You're wearing servant uniforms, and a newspaper informs you that you are currently in %COUNTRYNAME% in the year %CONTEMPORARY%+1. The newspaper is otherwise actually fairly unhelpful, aside from something detailing the results of a recent attempt at revolt in a city in %COUNTRYNAME%: worker’s success at managing a nearby gold mine led to dreams of every man being a king - the revolutionaries may have been successful had it not been for a concurrent jailbreak and mass slaughter putting local authorities on alert, buying time for military intervention - the town was nearly levelled to the ground, with few survivors.

But you seem to remember - you survived, didn’t you?

...Also, below the main headline about the failed revolution, there's something about Those Who Crave Hands? Huh.

Anyways, you've got marketing to do! ]

. . . What if we do the suggestion offered by one of the other idols.

"odd numbered units voting up for odd numbered models and even numbered units voting for even numbered models."

Most people won't actually take the suggestion. But I have no objections if that's how you'd like to play it.

Re: DISCUSSION

In the end, I was thinking that it doesn't really matter who we pick, right? No one deserves to be hurt, and so trying to guess who is who feels like we're cheapening individuals.

It's just my suggestion anyway.

I wouldn't bother with guessing either.

I'd simply downvote each of them.

We shouldn't downvote everyone...

Re: DISCUSSION

Baritones aside not many Units are likely to go for that route. It would be the easiest way for us to actually win, and heal the inevitable damage we'll get.

Though it would also confirm why people go after us, so. There's that.
sunflowering: Do not take (You're just guessing meanings)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] sunflowering 2020-05-20 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'd rather avoid that. Everyone will see if we were to win that way, which would make it more difficult for us in later games.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] time5kip 2020-05-20 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
It's already "more difficult" for us. It literally can't get worse than that, and if you can't see that this will keep being the case regardless of how we play you're more naive than I thought.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind going with your strategy either. But you should be aware your kindness is not going to change anything. Regardless of how we play we'll still be targets.

I think as of now Baritones might be more popular than us, so. You can imagine why I don't think it can possibly get any worse.

But as I said. I don't mind playing how you'd like, and I did mention before that I'm willing to wait things out to see how we'll fare in a game in which our Unit names are explicitly out there in the open.

I'd just rather you drop any illusions about the way we play having any true impact in other Units eye. Let's not forget that Vergil got stabbed right there in the open and we don't exactly see people being indignant on our behalf.

[ =( ]

. . . I'm in the minority here.

[ And it's really depressing that yes even BARiTONES is more liked than them. ]

I'll do what you think is best for the game. In the end, I guess it is true that the same number of units will be saved and punished regardless of what we do.

The only thing it makes a difference for is your conscience. Though obviously, if you were to spot your daughter among these we will make certain not to downvote her.

I think this round is more of an experiment to see where it will go. Maybe we shouldn't think too hard about it and try to see how other units will play it. Agreeing to a 'rule' might be useful.

[if only to unexpectedly break it later]

I admit that I feel like I'm vibrating out of my skin regarding that fact, too.
