Taisho Roman Revolution
[ Everything fades to black...and you awaken in an opera house.
You're wearing servant uniforms, and a newspaper informs you that you are currently in %COUNTRYNAME% in the year %CONTEMPORARY%+1. The newspaper is otherwise actually fairly unhelpful, aside from something detailing the results of a recent attempt at revolt in a city in %COUNTRYNAME%: worker’s success at managing a nearby gold mine led to dreams of every man being a king - the revolutionaries may have been successful had it not been for a concurrent jailbreak and mass slaughter putting local authorities on alert, buying time for military intervention - the town was nearly levelled to the ground, with few survivors.
But you seem to remember - you survived, didn’t you?
...Also, below the main headline about the failed revolution, there's something about Those Who Crave Hands? Huh.
Anyways, you've got marketing to do! ]

Re: DISCUSSION
[But it's already been out in the open in view of the cameras, so...]
It turns out I have a son on Avante. I'd...like to do what I can to protect him. But I realise that's asking a lot, considering the animosity.
Re: DISCUSSION
I'm fine with it, Shu will also likely agree despite our, well. General issues with Avante. It's your son.
Congratulations on your newfound fatherhood.
Re: DISCUSSION
It's Griffin, isn't it.
Re: DISCUSSION
...Thanks.
[Of course it's Griffin they look exactly alike and he's a moron for not realising it]
What gave it away?
Re: DISCUSSION
[ But this makes perfect sense. ]
I don't have any qualms not targetting Avante. I tried to make an alliance with them in the past, but...
[ . . . ]
They wanted to break it.
Obviously I cannot and will not target a unit that has your child on it. Since... well, I know exactly how painful that would be. But... I have to ask. Are they going to extend that sort of thing to us in turn? They have never once hesitated to throw us to the wayside and watch our corpses pile up.
Re: DISCUSSION
[Oh no. that sounds Bad.]
I couldn't say. He told me he wouldn't give Taisho special consideration because of me, which could be empty posturing, or perfectly truthful, and I don't care either way. I don't intend to discuss it with him like some sort of bargain.
Re: DISCUSSION
I don't like the idea of our unit sacrificing itself each time if he's not going to return the favor. And I admit that while I genuinely like Griffin, I don't trust him to show sympathy toward us either. Especially if he told you that.
[ She sighs ]
I guess there's no easy relationships here, huh.
Re: DISCUSSION
Re: DISCUSSION
But it's not like I relish the idea of hitting Avante. I like Shrike, Kestrel, Gold, Cardinal-- they aren't bad people, and obviously Griffin is important to you.
I'll protect him with my life.
They just have a weird and unfortunate perception of us that I don't think actually represents us accurately.
. . . Maybe they're actually obsessed with us?
