[ Standing on the deck of a grand galleon rocking in the midst of clear, turquoise waves. In front of your boat is an island--deserted, of course--and next to the steering wheel you'll find two large chests, one filled with bags of gold and the other filled with dark, round, innocuous looking balls, as well as two maps--one clearly depicting the uncharted island in front of you, and the other--a treasure island. And apparently just for shits and giggles, there's a pile of pirate-themed accessories in your unit color(s) you can put on--eye patches, plastic swords and water pistols, fake stuffed parrots, bandanas, a Captain's hat--even a peg-leg or two.

Your phones chime and instructions to choose where to hide both the treasure and traps on your island based on your map appears. ]

[ Players, note that you have until 6pm PST/9PM EST to make sure your unit's card is completely filled out and ready to go! Feel free to thread out burying the treasure, just selecting the spots, or fighting over the accessories, whatever floats your literal boat. ]

A warning whistle resounds from the boat signaling game start, and the ship pulls away from the shore. It steers itself to a new island--one that looks just like the one on the bottom map/grid. Your phone updates with new instructions now:

Avast! Find as much booty as ye can while avoidin' the traps set by other scallywags. Six be the magic number o' plots ye can search each time.

A warning whistle resounds again and your ship will once again begin to navigate its way all on its own. Where to now…?

We can just more or less divide up the number of treasures and booby traps to put down among us, right?

[That said, he's already beginning to input his own picks on the map.]

I tried to choose some nice spots...

Izanagi, do you want to wear one of the hats? It'd look really nice on you, wouldn't it?

[Going to pick out a suitably awesome one even if it's more uhhh pink and white. Ah well.]

You should get something, too! Like a parrot, or one of the other hats! We can be co-captains.

Maybe we should try all four of the corners and get them out of the way? Each "piece" is just one tile, so unless our opponent set them down in a specific pattern, there's only so much we can calculate.

Mm, I think so too.

Other than the corners, there's the center too... it'd be good to eliminate those first, right? Do you want to check a sixth spot too?

Those are the places most people would be drawn to, huh? Hopefully we aren't facing any great strategists. Alright, so that's B2, H2, E5, B8, and H8. Want to try out D5 while we're at it, too?

That's a good idea. After the center and the corners, it makes sense to try the sides, doesn't it?
