Glory Ideal World
As you come to consciousness, you hear narration in your head. For some reason, this seems perfectly natural.
(OOC: Key items and concepts will be bolded in descriptions and dialogue, and your character will be able to sense they seem important as well. You can shoot any of them you see at any point. How do you shoot a concept? Don't worry about it. Just say what you're shooting in your action tag, and whether you are AFFIRMing or DENYing. In addition to doing damage to or reinforcing the ideal world illusion, shooting these may cause mental or physical effects. These affect everyone in the vicinity, not just the person who fired the bullet.
Otherwise, you can assume the guns have no effect on anything.
You can check your character's individual skill and their starting area in the signup sheet. Skills are one time use.)

Welcome to Glory's Ideal World! There appears to be an almost ghostly pistol at your hip, hovering attached to nothing. It's a revolver with two settings, easy to pick up and fire, and the bullets themselves are even more incorporeal - shadows that dart through the air and disappear without a trace on impact.
You'll find you have a gun at your side. You'll use this to interact with the things and people in this world. Don't worry, though! This is not a normal gun, and it doesn't fire real bullets! No things or people will be harmed by being shot with them. In fact, they won't do anything at all unless you shoot at weak points—actually, let's call them key items or key concepts. In order to break through to reality, you'll need to identify which of them are true and accurate representations, and which are illusion or delusion. Destroy the delusions, and strengthen the truths! However, be careful—if you strengthen a delusion it will make it harder to escape this world, and if you destroy a truth it will be harder to escape with Glory and yourselves intact!
You have two kinds of bullets - "Affirm" bullets and "Deny" bullets. If you think something is true and should be reinforced, shoot it with an "Affirm" bullet! On the other hand, if you think it's false, shoot a "Deny" bullet! You'll find out what other effects this has as you go! You've even been given one special skill to help you out!
Of course, you can always leave things alone. But if you don't want to be trapped here forever, you'll need to make some decisions. So don't be shy. You've got unlimited ammo.

Re: WORLD R
The cutout wavers in something like television static. For a moment, it seems like it's a real Glory standing there—and for a moment, it seems like there are other people in the courtroom. You can hear voices.
Even if your body is real, your identity, personality, talent and past are all fiction. It's all fiction created by the Flashback Light.
This was all a show... this whole killing game!
The walls of this academy are your world now. The outside world is of no concern to you.
All the people in this peaceful world are straight-up crazy for this killing game show!
Then that all fades, and the Glory cutout at the podium dissolves into dust. However, in its place is another Glory(?) in a more drab high school uniform, this one definitely flesh and blood. She leans against the podium lazily.
Re: WORLD R
So, who're you?
Re: WORLD R
"If she's the fiction, I'm the reality. You know all that about being an assassin and stuff is fake, right?"
She giggles. It's a strange sound; Glory does not generally giggle.
"But of course there was a real person from before the fake memories. Even if I don't remember it... you didn't remember yourself when you first showed up here, right? Does that mean who you were before wasn't you, then? So... this is who I was."
Re: WORLD R
[He twirls the gun in his hand lazily,]
I chose to go back to 'Nero', because I had a world and a family that still relied on me.
[He glances over at Glory, now safely nestled in his jacket, and pulls her close in a side hug, protectively.]
She chose to be 'Morning Glory'. She said fuck you to all her past selves and built herself a new reality. And a new family.
You're not anything anymore.

[Real Glory startles slightly out of her fugue, looking up at him before moving more firmly against his side.]

"That's sweet. You know, they ended up giving me that tragic backstory and romantic subplot or whatever with the false memories, too. But that was just a script. Playing a role.
"I'm not a normal girl. I'm not a devil hunter. I'm not even an assassin. In the end, I'm just a girl who auditioned to have my memories rewritten so I could be in my favorite killing game show. What makes you think I can do any more than play at things?"
Re: 2/2
No one made her change her name from Maki. Or decide she liked the thrill of flying motorcycles and b-being tied up by someone she trusts. Hell, I was the one who showed her how to customize her gear!
She doesn't need to lean on the fake stuff giving her connections to people anymore. Or make her happy. The person she is right now matters to us.
Re: 2/2
"She thought she was acting of her own free will before, too. She thought she was growing. Becoming a better person. Falling in love. But that was all just manipulation.
"Are you really sure there's anything there that matters?"
Re: 2/2
Anything's better than you. There's nothing more worthless than letting some ancient history dictate what's real or not, instead of finding it yourself.
Re: 2/2
Nero...
[The girl at the podium just rolls her eyes.]
Re: 2/2
Better come up with some better last words than that.
Re: 2/2
"Do you think I'm scared? I volunteered to be written out of existence to start with. You can deny me, but you'll always know."
Re: 2/2
[Nero fires the Deny bullet.]
Re: 2/2
No one just comes into being and that's who they are. They grow and change. I'm starting from being a fake person. That's not an easy place to start. But it's not fundamentally different from anyone else. Normal people are born and become who they are based on their decisions and their experiences. Everyone has made decisions about what they want and who they want to be since I've been here. And so have I.
Sometimes it feels like I'm building a house on a foundation made of paper. I have everything I've built, and there isn't really anything I can do but keep working on it, but... maybe I'm missing some fundamental pieces and it will never be a real house. It's not worth worrying about, though. Since in reality, there isn't anything I can do but do my best to move forward from here.
And then suddenly the room around you crumples, as if it is, in fact, made out of paper. And you wake up.
