Welcome!
The OPENING is where to start, but there are a couple things to note.
The OPENING is where to start, but there are a couple things to note.
Your characters will find that their powers only work near the end. I'll let you know when powers will start to work! Characters will be given both a mask and a lightstick—if you try to get rid of either, they will be replaced within a second. They will also have whatever items they brought in with them.
Secondly, this will be ICly apparent fairly easily and also very early, but your character will be able to find many different characters. I won't be able to NPC them all so we might get a little vague!! You are free, and a little encouraged, to go look around.
Characters will be told ICly in the OPENING what they need to do, but they won't be told about how things will sometimes feel wrong. This will be a sudden, very noticeable feeling, in red! Generally, what they need to is get Wataru to say goodbye. Having him willingly leave will work too, but that's the better outcome. This will be ICly known once you're out of the opening area.
Also there is a sense of urgency ICly with regard to timing, but don't worry about that OOCly!
Finally, tags are going to come from bothstagename and
regale don't worry about it.

OPENING.
Literally. It’s the first sense you regain, the faint smell of roses everywhere. When you open your eyes, they’re also the first thing you see. Arrayed in every direction, in every imaginable shade, it looks like they go on forever and ever. The sky is shimmery and bright, faint colours of the rainbow spreading across it--it doesn’t look anything even close to natural, and the clouds all look like cotton candy, wafting across the sky.
The only place spared roses is a brick bridge and, at the end of it, a castle.
You’re not alone, though. There’s someone else with you, holding a clipboard and a long, long scroll--so long it falls off of the clipboard and rolls across the ground. The person with you is fairly tall, but their features are simple and forgettable. The only exceptional part about them is that they’re wearing a mask. It doesn’t cover a lot of their face, so their expression is pretty readable.
They are smiling, but also they look like they have a job to do!
The bridge happens to be leading across… an abyss of rainbows, to end up on the doorstep of an equally colourful castle. For some inexplicable reason, it is lightly raining feathers across the sky.
You can hear faint music that sounds like … it sounds like pop music, actually? Coming from the castle. There’s also the occasional light reflected on different parts of the castle or against the clouds, as if there’s some kind of show being held within.
Anyway, the person with the clipboard is talking to you, shoving a glowstick into one of your hands and a colourful mask into your other hand. ]
Welcome! Welcome one and all to the greatest show on earth!
Oh, you're late, but that's okay! The main event might have ended already, but there should be enough time to get you up to the stage if we hurry!
Here, here... let me check... there's only a few names left unchecked, so that must be you! Okay, give me your name and we'll get started...

Then again it might be, "getting up on the stage". He will accept these gifts, though he isn't putting the mask on.]
........ Tenshouin Eichi...? Am I to be performing...?

[ Hm.........
The poor person with the list is actually looking incredibly flabbergasted about this one. ]
Oh, wow! I'm confused already! I thought I had already checked you in... because aren't you... well, whatever! Let me find you again... [ Flipping really, really quickly through the list. There's so many names. ] There you are. Okay! You've got a special job! Are you ready to hear it?

Re: OPENING.
THE CASTLE.
There’s a lot of people around. Every single person is wearing a mask and a smile; it’s a joyous occasion! Some of these people might even be familiar to you, but they’re on a mission so you’ll have to try a bit harder to get their attention.
While the outside of the castle is quite fantastical, the inside is much, much more modern. There are many hallways and paths to take, filled with people that are equipped with different coloured lightsticks--the kind you take to idol concerts, of course.
There’s a large set of stairs, closer to the source of the music. ]

He will look around a little when he gets inside. He's just supposed to go straight, right? Oof. If this wasn't a dream he would be rushing since he's apparently already late, but thankfully it's like WHATEVER.
He'll look around, but at least won't stray from the path. It's probably more important that he follow the instructions to get where he wants, anyway.]
Hmmmmmmm....
What are you supposed to perform that makes someone leave? A requiem?
no subject
Great idea! Let's play a soul-moving requiem, a beautiful goodbye to the dead!

There's a very faint "Remember to go straight!" as he leaves. ]

It's one of the moon vampires! What are you doing here? Are you here to watch the performance?

THE MAZE.
You can take a seat yourself, take some tea, or take a nap. Whatever. There’s a big clock near the front of the maze that tells you that it’s 7:30PM.
If you want to look at what’s on the table, it seems like today’s schedule is there. Otherwise, it seems like it’s time to brave the maze. ]

THE STAGE.
The stage is empty now that fine is finished with it, and the modern lighting suitable for an idol group has dimmed and the curtain has dropped, preparing for a different kind of show. There’s probably a way to get backstage if you really want to…
But also, the seating is expansive, and kind of at odds with everything else. The outside of the castle was, well, a rainbow-y castle, and if you prodded around you might have seen some modern looking halls, as well as a full tea garden maze, but this is much more intricate. Hmmm, well anyway. Some people have filed out, but there’s still many inside, ready for the next show. There’s a bunch of people in the galleries above, too. You probably recognize a lot of people here. Here’s some notable things:
You should take a seat and wait for the next show to begin, but you could always do it sitting next to someone you recognize! ]

There's a door he's got to check out first. He lets go of Leo's arm.]
Leo, I'll be back in a moment. You should probably just take a seat and meet me backstage after this performance, alright? If you do not perform with me, I won't forgive you.
[The door that says fine on it is going to be investigated.]

THE SHOW.
A human?
Are they really a human?
They're human shaped, aside from the iridescent bug wings humming behind them. No matter how long and hard you look at them, it's hard to focus on what exactly you are looking at. And now, you find yourself unable to move from your chair. The thing is moving around, speaking and gesturing, spinning a tale of fairies and demons and love and for some reason it almost feels like they're talking in a language that is just a little off from what you know. If you try to look at their face, you'll see that it's just a mask that changes to suit the expression needed for their role. If you try to listen to the tone of their voice, it changes to someone else's voice right away. If you try to look at their silhouette, trying to familiarize yourself with it--it's like their image sharpens finally, and you are able to grasp what you are looking at.
Who you are looking at.
How long has it been? The performance itself might have been gripping, enthralling, enchanting. Or maybe it wasn't your taste and was boring. Either way, time has been lost and when you blink again, there are two of this slightly familiar, human shaped thing. The second is taking up a different role; you can at least understand that, and they are the same but different.
A third. A fourth. They're talking to each other, to the audience, to people who aren't even there, and the sound of drone-like humming is getting louder and louder. You blink again and the stage is full of these human shaped things, and then you blink again and… the audience, aside from you all, is asleep. That's kind of weird for a performance, right? Hm.
Only one remains, sitting with it's legs--his legs, you feel is right, actually--hanging over the edge of the stage. This human is much more familiar now, even though his face is hidden entirely. Even if he's in a blue, feathery costume. Even if his hair is a strange mix of blue and gold colours.
There was some wrongness there, wasn't it? It's tripled now… but hey! You're probably able to call out or move now, if you try hard. ]
Re: THE SHOW.
Fufufu, as always, you always put on such spirited performances! [He will. Clap for it, even if it was odd. He's been in Hell too long.]
