Something is wrong. Very, very wrong. You feel it in your bones. It’s like standing on the ledge waiting to fall to oblivion.
Something soothes you. That trinket you got, the one made from crystal, it is warm to the touch. As you place your fingers on it you are reassured. Everything is alright. It will be. Trust. Be calm. Just embrace the comforting Darkness. All will be well.
Do you embrace the Darkness? > Yes > No
Hmmm, that’s not all that has changed. When did the crystal teleportation devices become that deep shade of purple? In fact, when did all the aetherytes become that deep shade of purple? The sky is now dark and muted once you reach outdoors. You’ll notice small creatures around you made of fang and claw and teeth and snarls. If you have any amount of combat abilities, they are dispatched easily enough, but they certainly weren’t there before. And more disturbingly they are becoming more frequent.
And make no mistake as you count the people one by one, there are some missing. Where there were four Amaurotines there are now two. Two becoming one.
It is like half of the city was missing?
And if that wasn’t disturbing enough, everyone had traded their colors, their unique masks, their individual flare for gray robes pulled tight above their faces and a simple white mask. It was too uniform. Too clean. Too perfect….?
