BREAK TIME
Beneath one of the blankets, you hear a rustle.
Then, another.
And another.
The blanket lump closest to you makes a noise. You hear:
Re: BREAK TIME
[ Lifts a corner of the nearest blanket ]
Re: BREAK TIME
"Noo-lah!" it intones, yet again. Though its voice is completely soul-less, in your heart, you know that "Noo-lah" means "Friend." It looks up at you with vacant eyes, wanting to be held.
Re: BREAK TIME
[ Well. Picks it up to pat its head. ]
You haven't seen Yvette, have you?
Re: BREAK TIME
The voice of Yvette pops into your head, with the jaunty tone of an infomercial announcer:
FOR THE COST OF ONE (1) MEMORY, THIS ADORABLE FURBY CAN BE YOURS!
ALTERNATIVELY, FOR THE COST OF ONE (1) MEMORY, YOU CAN PLAY WITH EVEN MORE FURBIES!!
Re: BREAK TIME
[ He ruffles the furby one more time and sets it back down, tugging blankets aside to check for any other secret questions hidden in here ]
