Lucifel's Ideal World, v.1

—The world is ugly, he once declared.

Chaos is inevitable in this world. Pure good can’t be achieved, and pure evil breaks down. And these two extremes are always incompatible with each other. There is still some evil in a good world. That is how the world is, and it is what continues to create ugly things. Evil sneers at good, and good rages over evil. But, in a world where good and evil oppose each other, there is a group that is far more numerous that always appears.

That is ‘grey’. Neither good nor evil. A group that drifts through life haphazardly and merely exists. They don’t believe in goodness and are simply proud that they aren’t evil. Even though they affirm evil acts, they deny evil intentions. They happily say that ‘I am not evil, I am a good person’ and pardon all forms of cruelty.

They kill people while sneering. They kill people out of contempt. They kill people as part of a game. They use the excuse that they can’t restrain their desires—That’s how humans are. That’s how the world is.

Yes—this world is extremely ugly. Neither dyed by good nor fallen into evil. Unable to decide on a color, the wills of people continue to waver. As long as such evil intentions and such foul-smelling corpses aren’t destroyed.

The world will surely continue to rot eternally.

While wrapped within a curse-like fog in darkness frozen to its core.

He thus concluded.

Right! No one will attack or hurt you, but the system is used to settle disagreements peacefully.

So no one will be hurt with it?

Well, you get tired after a while, don't you?

That's right.

[Sighs in relief.] That's far more preferable. With how everything's been...

I don't know, I thought it'd steal your soul or something.

He wouldn't create a system like that. He's carefully taking care of your souls, so that no one can do anything to them anymore. . .

Back in that city, on that show—your soul could be damaged. If it was, then the cracks in your soul would be filled in with demonic essence, and those would be corruptions.

But he healed all that damage and purified the demonic essence, and then put every soul in a safe place so that they couldn't be taken, or damaged, or corrupted, ever again.

....ah.

So he wants to keep us safe.

He wants everyone to be safe, and happy. . . For no one person to have to suffer again for the sake of someone else's happiness. He's almost there.

Almost there. What is he going to do?

Well. . .

[ pursing her lips together to think for a moment ]

Why do humans kill other humans?

Fear, anger, protection, resources, greed, honor, sadistic malice.

That's right.

But fear, protection, resources, and greed all come from the same place. It's the innate sense of self-preservation. . . For that reason, people are afraid, and will hoard resources. For that reason, they'll take and take even more than they need, because of that sense.

He's solved the problem of "anger" and "honor". With the system, you can settle your disagreements without hurting anyone.

Now he's solving the problem of "resources". If there isn't enough rice to feed the village, then someone will starve. If someone owns the means of producing that rice, that person can choose who starves—then, they have power.

But if the rice isn't owned by anyone, or if no one needs rice anymore, then no one will fight for resources. There isn't a need to be greedy, and there isn't a reason to kill for greed either. If everyone needs, then everyone can have . . . or, failing that, if no one needs, then no one needs to have. No one will die from someone's decision to make their life better anymore.

If there's no way to be hurt, and if there's no way to die from a lack of resources, then there's no need to protect—because there's no danger. Because there's no danger, there's no fear.

...if no one needs?

[Because that.]

[Is a worrying statement in all that.]

[Because it all sounds nice. And fair, honestly. People owning too much is a Problem and there's always greedy people who will try to hoard if it's not stopped.]

[But that part is. A concern.]

Right now, he's using magical energy to make human bodies self-sustainable without food. So we don't need to eat anymore. . . I still like to cook, though, so we can eat if we want to.

It takes a lot of work, and it took him a long time to get it right, but that's where we are right now. Next, he's working on doing the same for water and oxygen.

The Holy Grail.

Uhm. . .

Do you know what a well is?

Yes.

Then, it's like a well for magical energy. I don't know too much about it because it's from his world, but it collects the ambient magical energy in its surroundings to store. It used to have a system called the Holy Grail War, but he dismantled that system and created this one to better serve people instead of cause needless bloodshed for a single person's wish.

[Frowns.] So people just fought for the wish of this grail? And fighting...didn't fuel it or anything, did it?
