Within the darkness, you can just barely hear the echoes of distant voices, too faint to identify . . .

"Man Eater is so scary! Man Eater is a killer! It's all very alarming but. . .that's all there is, isn't it?

Neeheehee, brutish as you may be, someone like you will never be more than that. You'll kill, and you'll die. Over and over, until it's permanent some day."

"And you're the same... Hitoshiki! The truth is you're just a serial killer who's only good for killing—so why are you going to school like some normal kid?! Leading a dual life when you don't even have a dual personality—it's not fair! Why only you?! It's not fair!"

"It's better not to fight, sometimes. I feel kind of sorry for you..."

"So what it comes down to is this. Would you rather stay what you are, or be happy?"

Gradually, those voices blend into the hum of a bustling crowd... naturally enough to make you wonder if perhaps you were just hearing things, after all.

Upon closer inspection, at least one of the boys is a familiar face. That's definitely Man☆Eater, only dressed in a gakuran and with his long hair pulled up into a ponytail. The other is an extremely short boy with a giant face tattoo and unkempt black hair.

The booth they're hanging out next to is labeled "RUSSIAN ROULETTE TAKOYAKI." Face tattoo boy is doubled over in agony, while Man☆Eater seems to be having a good laugh at his expense.

"Gyahahaha! Oh, c'mooon, it can't be that bad. Here, let me have a taste." Man☆Eater leans over to try and kiss him, while the other boy shoves at his face, shouting, "DROP DEAD!"

... and they keep going on in that vein, but you could probably interrupt if you wanted.

[She has Sabre's cat ear headband now.]

Hi, Man Eater!

He stops heckling Hitoshiki for a moment to look over at Angel. "Yo, Angel! Having fun so far?"

Oh yes! Sabre lost her cat ears and that is very sad, but otherwise, everything is okay! I hope you're having fun, too!

It is very good to meet your rival, hello Rival!

"It's Zerozaki Hitoshiki!" tattoo boy shouts. "We're in the same class... Since when am I that forgettable?! C'mon, I have a tattoo, for god's sake!"

Man☆Eater cackles at his expense.

Hello, Zerozaki Hitoshiki, it is nice to meet you! My name is Angel or QW5nZWw= but most people call me Angel. Dusk is my name from home, you can call me that, too! Do not worry, I will never forget you unless I receive amnesia!

"Yeah, I know who you are, Angel," he sighs. "What a riot..."

Man Eater tilts his head. "You really don't recognize him at all, huh?"

"It's the school festival, what else? We've been preparing for it for weeks, remember?"

Man☆Eater and Hitoshiki exchange confused glances, then look back at Angel.

I think the way to do it is to kill people, but I do not really like killing people, and even Intensity agreed, it is better to find another way!

He does catch the last part, though, and turns red.

Yes! Maybe it is you who have forgotten! But you are one of his important people! Make sure you go back with him if he asks you to come with him.

He runs a hand down his face. Just give him a second to collect himself.

"'Course... I know that," he mumbles. "And we live together. Where else would I even go?"

I am just saying that if he wants you to go with him, no matter where it is, you should!

He huffs!

"And of course I'm not about to let him go anywhere without me. That goes without saying."
