Mostly who've dropped by, or who gave me supplies to start out with—Amaranth and Cardinal drop by, sometimes. Eclipse, too, although for Persephone it's hard to drag him away from home and his partner.

I've never met them in person, but—gentle, kind. A musician. They're both quiet sorts, I get the impressionn.

...and then you feel the tension change slightly, like it's dropped properly into the water. When you start hauling it back up, it definitely feels heavier.
There's also a sort of... the sound of the crank sounds wrong, doesn't it? Like someone's death croak in your ears.
But when the bucket reaches the top, it's just full of water. The water smells... funny... but that's probably a function of it not being modern tap water, right? ]
