It's dark... and a little cold.

Hey, there's some junk in here that's not in the right spots. Take a good look around and fix that jazz. Everything's got a place or whatever.

you feel like you've just started on a grand adventure, as you walk forward from the darkness; there's a swell of pleasure in your chest as you see the little cottage, propped up on a deck above the cave lake, shallow enough to see the bottom from the shore. The lights inside are on, and a little white dog and a very large black dog snooze comfortably by the front door.

There's a chill in the air, but the whole place feels warm and homey inside, the sun and green grass of the world beyond visible through the open cave mouth.

you enter into a small, cozy house.

it looks remarkably normal inside. there's a kitchen you can see through the doorway and breakfast bar, with some brownies piled up on a plate ready for taking.

against the wall, there's a ladder leading upstairs.

Climbing up the stairs brings you into a room with much more personality than the downstairs. The bookshelves seem to be layered with old gifts and fanmail-- if you ever gave her something, it's probably there.

There's a desk by her bed and a closet half-propped open and dark inside.

You leave the cave and walk into the sun. It's a beautiful day out; a girl with dark skin and long, black hair is perched on one of the rocks outside, plucking at a double-sided axe bass guitar and humming softly in tune with it. She looks... familiar, sort of; but maybe the blue flannel, star-printed leggings, and boots gives it away.

Off in the distance, you can see the looming buildings of a great city, partially shrouded in dark. The opposite way, you can see the towering castle and tree that make up the Candy Kingdom, bright and soft in the sunlight.

You enter the Kingdom through the gates and are greeted by the (frankly) kind of dopey smiles of the Banana Guards and the silent looming of the Gumball Guardians, sedately blowing bubbles. Most of the candy people seem to greet you pretty warmly, too, and seem willing to chitchat.

There's a pathway directly to the castle.

this looks strangely like tokyo-f-- or maybe liar hell-- the sky dark and open but the streets brightly lit and bustling with neon colors and all sorts of people. Most of the city is brightly lit and visible, but there's some spots hidden in shadow that may be worth checking out... not to mention those posters pasted up every couple of buildings.

Once in a while you're greeted by someone, always friendly, always with some sort of corruption going on; a fan, perhaps? They seem willing to chat if you have a moment, but they don't try to actively stop you.

In one of the larger parks a performance stage has apparently been commandeered for a performance tonight, with some posters pasted around on the street outside:

There's already a comfortable crowd of vendors and fans milling about, talking amongst themselves-- some even wave at you with recognition.

[ Is "cozy and homey" a feeling she's ever truly experienced before, though?

She considers the surroundings for a long moment, tail flicking, before she just heads toward the cottage. ]

[Ah, she remembers this. And this time...well.

She takes a glance around, then calls out]

Hello? Anybody home?

The black dog lifts his head-- and gives a single excited BOOF, tail wagging.

The little white dog just blinks at you and huffs without moving. He seems kinda old.

There's a slight echo in the cave, a cheery home, home called back to you.

It does get the attention of the dogs though-- the black one scrambled up to his feet with an excited BOOF, tail wagging hard, while the little white one stands after a moment to blink out at you; his tail's wagging too.

[ Hisses at both of them, as one does ]

I'm busy.

[ Is the door locked, cuz she's trying to open it ]

The white dog farts and rolls over.

The big dog-- actually, that one looks just like the puppy Req has but Maximum Size-- doesn't seem phased by the hissing, waiting patiently while she goes inside.

Ooh!

[She trots over to meet these good good boys; of course she knows Lady and at least remembers...ugh I don't remember, Steve or whatever, though they have never met. She offers her hand for sniffing before kneeling down for pets]

Hey buddies~ Your mom home?

[ WHAT IS A "NORMAL" HOUSE THOUGH

She looks around, brow furrowed, and calls out: ]

Uh, hello . . . ? Anybody around?

Lady dances a little until you get to him; no sniffing, just immediately shoving his head into her hands for pets yessssss

"""Steve""" is more patient; he's old and slow after all, so he waits patiently for some petting, tolerates a couple of pats, then decides he's good and totters his way inside through the dog door.

Nobody comes outside, though.

Seems empty!

[ Up the ladder, then ]

Is it normal to just leave your house unlocked for anybody to walk right in, or . . . ?

[ hmm. are either of those dogs familiar? ]

You head on up!

Lady is DEFINITELY familiar, if much much bigger now-- the white dog is familiar in a few memories, if Manny ever saw the ones from pre-vamping when she was still mortal, or if he saw the post-vamp fry song memory. I don't remember.

[ --Oh. Wait. The fanmail gives it away, finally. ]

Vampire girl--?

[ Now she gives a shit about this suddenly

Approaching the closet? ]

[It was probably an S name, or a letter similar to S. Anyway, it's Req's Dog...well, Marcy's Dog, and after enough Lady pets, she will follow him into the house. Not through the dog door, but she'll knock and then immediately try to enter...if it's unlocked]

I mean, nothing's jumping out at you or anything.

it's unlocked!

Lady follows you in happily, too.
