start - a cavern shaped like home

You feel like you've just started on a grand adventure, as you walk forward from the darkness; there's a swell of pleasure in your chest as you see the little cottage, propped up on a deck above the shore of the cave lake. The lights inside are on, and a little white dog and a very large black dog snooze comfortably by the front door.

There's a chill in the air, but the whole place feels warm and homey inside, the sun and green grass of the world beyond visible through the open cave mouth.

But!! the dogs get up; the large one-- is that Lady?-- gives an excited BOOF, dancing a little in place, and the little white one just stands wagging his tail.

They both get up, tails wagging, when you approach. YES!! PETS!!!!

The little white one is satisfied after a couple of pats, but just lays down again after.

inside the house

you enter into a small, cozy house.

it looks remarkably normal inside. there's a kitchen you can see through the doorway and breakfast bar, with some brownies piled up on a plate ready for taking.

against the wall, there's a ladder leading upstairs.

Climbing up the stairs brings you into a room with much more personality than the downstairs. The bookshelves seem to be layered with old gifts and fanmail-- if you ever gave her something, it's probably there.

There's a desk by her bed and a closet half-propped open and dark inside.

a song of adventure

You leave the cave and walk into the sun. It's a beautiful day out; a girl with dark skin and long, black hair is perched on one of the rocks outside, plucking at a double-sided axe bass guitar and humming softly in tune with it. She looks... familiar, sort of; but maybe the blue flannel, star-printed leggings, and boots gives it away.



this was the only thumbnail i was able to finish shut up.


Off in the distance, you can see the looming buildings of a great city, partially shrouded in dark. The opposite way, you can see the towering castle and tree that make up the Candy Kingdom, bright and soft in the sunlight.

the candy kingdom

You enter the Kingdom through the gates and are greeted by the (frankly) kind of dopey smiles of the Banana Guards and the silent looming of the Gumball Guardians, sedately blowing bubbles. Most of the candy people seem to greet you pretty warmly, too, and seem willing to chitchat.

There's a pathway directly to the castle.

Hey. Uh... you noticed anything weird around here lately?

the dark city

this looks strangely like tokyo-f-- or maybe liar hell-- the sky dark and open but the streets bright and bustling with neon colors and all sorts of people. Most of the city is brightly lit and visible, but there's some spots hidden in shadow that may be worth checking out...

Once in a while you're greeted by someone, always friendly, always with some sort of corruption going on; a fan, perhaps? They seem willing to chat if you have a moment, but they don't try to actively stop you.
