Welcome!
The OPENING is where to start, but there are a couple things to note.
The OPENING is where to start, but there are a couple things to note.
Your characters will find that their powers only work near the end. I'll let you know when powers will start to work! Characters will be given both a mask and a lightstick—if you try to get rid of either, they will be replaced within a second. They will also have whatever items they brought in with them.
Secondly, this will be ICly apparent fairly easily and also very early, but your character will be able to find many different characters. I won't be able to NPC them all so we might get a little vague!! You are free, and a little encouraged, to go look around.
Characters will be told ICly in the OPENING what they need to do, but they won't be told about how things will sometimes feel wrong. This will be a sudden, very noticeable feeling, in red! Generally, what they need to is get Wataru to say goodbye. Having him willingly leave will work too, but that's the better outcome. This will be ICly known once you're out of the opening area.
Also there is a sense of urgency ICly with regard to timing, but don't worry about that OOCly!
Finally, tags are going to come from bothstagename and
regale don't worry about it.

For a second his eyes might be a little watery but that is DEFINITELY just his very fantastic lighting set up, thanks. He is not going to bother with his score cards after all, actually. ]
Bravo, bravo! That was amazing!

He's grinning, though. ]
And now, I demand you dazzle me in kind, my friend! The stage is yours to take!

[He'll let Wataru down he SUPPOSES. When it becomes necessary. And give Shu some slow (thus quiet) clapping as a delayed reaction.]

It's a lot different than the show he had planned, though he's still alone up there. But at the same time, he doesn't really feel alone; not like he would have. The lights dim, appropriately, and he begins.
It's not memorized so much as what comes out is fairly natural sounding—it's the work of a genius who enjoyed what he was listening to, though the genius part certainly helps. He doesn't really change his voice to mimic Shu's, but sometimes it's eerily similar anyway.
The movements for a two person song are so different than a four person song (where one of them is sick and covering for that often means doing very specific things, or by not doing much at all—not that it's ever mattered to Wataru, but it's noticeable when he ends up finding himself actually moving around on stage.)
About three quarters of the way through the song, there's a strange beat as he passes through some of the words. A shimmer in the air, almost. There's even a second where he might be offbeat, and internally he's just as confused about it as anyone watching may be. That said, it's the smallest blip imaginable and he finishes the song with a similar bow.
He just kind of... stays there, though. Staring at the floor. ]

and he knows the goal of this game, and his own lyrics.
When the song is over, he approaches the stage, putting a hand out to wataru, to pull him up if he'll take it. Not that one should need it to get up from a bow, but ]
Has this given you satisfaction enough, Wataru?
no subject
Kanata will let Shu take a turn getting touchy feely with the Wataru, though he's following close behind.]

I see... you've tricked me. Fufu, good work.

Still, wasn't it quite cute to see Shu singing one of fine's songs? Now I want to hear him sing some of yours, too. Ah, I won't make him do that right now, though.
no subject
Ugh, you need not remind me! I would rather sing anything else in this world, than a song written for that unit, of all the units!
[ extremely melodramatic, acting as if this is the worst thing that has happened to him, ever ]
no subject
[Anyway, he's reaching out for Wataru's hand too now.]
I said I was going to be the "judge", so I will give my "judgment": I think you were both "amazing". But I am not the one who needs to be satisfied, so let me repeat Shu's "question". "Has this given you satisfaction enough, Wataru?"
no subject
And then avoiding the question. Sort of. He sounds too contemplative to be avoidant, really. ]
Where do you believe we are?
no subject
A dream of yours, non? A place where you can perform amongst those you love, and be appreciated by them in kind.
no subject
[He can't comment on the rest because he came straight here without learning anything at all about the setting, sorry poor neglected flavortext.]
no subject
How terrible of you, to redirect my performance this way... well, it's not as if this ended up badly, so I cannot complain. I suppose if you understand that much, then my salvation is at hand.

no subject
Just.
Grabs Shu's hand and leaps off of the stage. ]
no subject
What is this— Wataru!?!
no subject
Off they go! Kanata has zero objections and will not struggle.]
