This room is not real.

That's the first thought that crosses your mind as soon as your consciousness comes back up. You're not even sure if that's your own thought, but the feeling doesn't leave no matter how much time has passed. The room looks nice and cozy, but everything feels wrong. You don't belong here, you're you, aren't you?

You'll soon notice that there are other things that just isn't right. You can talk, but is your mouth moving? You can see, but are your eyes blinking? You also have ball joints. Nothing hurts, and you're fine, but it's a little weird.

.... so what if it's pointless? If everything is pointless, then it doesn't matter what we do so long as we have fun! So what do you want to take? What do you want more than anything in the world? Just take it from someone!

What I want can't be taken from anyone. But that also doesn't matter. To be honest I feel like I should just give up, it's a waste of time.

I don't think "my point" will make us very human.

What? That's dumb. Of course you're human. I'm human! We're all human! "Being human" isn't something you can just take from someone! "What makes you human" is a stupid question, because the answer is always going to be whatever parts of you that make up "you"! Whether you're happy or sad, charitable or selfish, full of hate or full of love, you're still human! That's what makes humans great. We're all different!

Is it really that easy.

I wonder about that.

Being human is never "easy". It's actually really hard. [ hmmmm... ] Maybe that's what it means to be human? Should we take other peoples' "complexity"?

And yet some people who aren't even human make it look so easy. I do wonder about it, you know. After everything I've done and seen, the way I grew up. If I'm human at all.

Complexity is fine. But you're in charge of arguing for it.

... where I come from, people like me are labeled "monsters" because there's no other way for them to understand our existence. Sometimes they're nicer about it, sometimes they just call us "extraordinary" or "inhuman". But it means the same thing no matter what word they use. It means they're scared of us, and deep down it even means they hate us, because we're different from them and they know they can't ever be like us.

And maybe they're right. Maybe we're terrifying! And maybe we deserve their hate! But when it comes right down to it ... I don't understand them either. There's things about "normal people" that I will never understand, no matter how much I try! Does that make them inhuman too?

I don't really know, so... the way I see it, being human is just being unable to fully understand each other at all!
