The clock strikes twelve and everyone will find themselves inexorably drawn to a seat; the once-empty place marking now bears their name on it. The place settings and food items all vanish in a spray of glitter, and the In the middle of the tables what appears in their stead are--two fancy gold chests, one inlaid with red jewels and the other inlaid with blue jewels (neither of which can be opened yet) as well as what looks to be a game board and, of course, a single dice. The long, billowing curtains draw down around each table and--you'll find yourself unable to leave your table, or see or hear anything beyond it other than the background music which continues to play.

That I do not know. But is that so important? You are mine regardless.

[He says it fondly, and indeed he does have a reaction to all the kissing and cuddles, the normal physical interest amplified by not having inhibitions about who he is kissing.

But under that, while his intentions aren't that licentious when you get past the current reaction, there is a sense of possessiveness. For Nero and Raven mainly. It's not particularly strong, possessive by proxy, but it exists.]

[Jealousy, competitiveness. He wants to shine above everyone else, he deserves it, he wants he wants he wants it's loud and it's driven and he wants--]

'Course it's important. How many have been yours...? I bet you can't even count'em all.

[Honestly he's just endeared by the greed, kneading the back of Nero's neck.]

If you mean in the physical sense? Certainly more than I could possibly recall. But if you mean in the sense that I actually care? Quite few.

[Breathes out a soft, shaky moan from this kneading, his face flushed utterly red. In the moment, does he care which list he's in? ...Well, obviously he wants to be #1 in both.]

So? How could I be satisfied being anything but the top billing?

[He laughs, kissing Nero's forehead. There is no malice or cruelty in his feelings but he is quite blunt;]

You shall never achieve either with me I'm afraid. But that's hardly something you can do anything about. I doubt the desire will last past this game in any case.

Though I do find the greed and arrogance endearing. One should never settle for less than their full desires.

[There's a brief flash of lucidity - if that was what Lahabrea found endearing... he remembered being crushed by him, as easily as if he were an insect, the promise of despair and death as he stands to his full height - seeing himself, bleeding out in his own home after being robbed without a word by a stranger who should've loved him

He pushes his thoughts back by launching himself at Lahabrea's lips again, as though defying his claim - both that he'd never achieve anything and that this feeling could possibly end - in protest of that patronizing forehead kiss.

And maybe, he did want to defeat Vergil too. In some way, after his father had already so thoroughly ruined him.]

[That's a lot to feel over an empathy bond young man.

He can basically see it coming ahead of time but he doesn't back off from the renewed and rather more--is desperate the word? Purposeful maybe--kiss. He does drop his hands to Nero's shoulders and push him back. He may be without inhibitions and extremley influenced by the game effects but that doesn't mean he's going to just! Shut up!]

Nero--my dear. You have nothing to prove to me.

[He struggles, but there's not much he can do when his arms are tied back.

Doesn't have anything to prove THAT MEANS HE HAS EVERYTHING TO PROVE, HE ALWAYS HAS, NO MENTOR OR PARENT OR ANY KIND OF OLDER FIGURE JUST ACCEPTS HIM UNLESS HE HAS TO FIGHT FOR IT AND KEEP FIGHTING FOR IT SO THEY DON'T LEAVE IF HE FAILS THEN THEY LEAVE

Tears are welling up in his eyes because there's nothing to hold them back]

[The desire for validation is a lot. It's almost suffocating. Enough to take him aback. He reaches up, brushes his fingers under Nero's eyes, making soft noises. Concerned, worried. A little mad, in a protective way.]

It's all right. Nero. My young friend. There is nothing you lack, so how can you prove what is there already? Your worthiness and value are already uniquely your own, something beyond compare to any others.

[Saying he's 'beyond compare' goes a long way to get the competitive urge to simmer down inside him, but his vanity's not yet satisfied. He wants more, he wants it enough to blink back the wetness in his eyes to play coy]

Is that what you really think? I wanna hear it.

[Sigh... Youths. There's amused exasperation.]

What exactly would you hear that I have not said?

[Even if he's being banned from kissing Lahabrea right now, he's still gonna try and nudge his way closer, so he can breathe in that scent. Maybe nuzzle into the slope of his neck, if he's able.]

For starters, tell me I'm pretty.

[Amused he doesn't stop him, petting Nero's hair instead and wondering how embarrassed he's going to be.]

[he's going to die. he's going to die infinite deaths.

But right now he purrs, wanting his ego stoked more]
