Shifting Sands: BAD END=DEAD END
You find yourselves in a tastefully-appointed stateroom with linens and upholstery in BAD END gunmetal. At one side is a closet full of Victorian-era costumes and a box of props—whatever you might need to play a role.
There's a desk, and someone has left written instructions on the blotter. Maybe you should read them!

Foreign Minister: Secure an agreement of alliance in writing with a politician from another nation.
Con Artist: Secure the hand in marriage of someone wealthy and/or important from another nation.
Military Officer: Convince someone of higher station than you to engage you in a contest of strength, and win.
Illegitimate Noble: Get someone of noble station to acknowledge your virtues to attain more legitimacy in high society despite the circumstances of your birth.
Spy: Make a serious attempt to learn and sabotage another unit’s goal.
Priest: Find someone who is troubled, convince them to tell you about it, and give them decent advice for their situation.
Overbearing Family Head: Get one of your unitmates engaged in-character.
Cursed Heir: You have a curse upon you. Try to get rid of and/or hide your curse while securing a good marriage. Decide on one obvious sign, and bring it up once per thread for roleplaying credit.

Right... I suppose we start by seeing which each of us wants. There's a nice variety, so we can play to our strengths.

You don't look bad yourself. [Ahem.] So. Will you be playing the part of the con artist we're marrying off or the spy keeping an eye on our enemies?

[ She knows which two roles he'd have the most fun with. ]
I thought I'd go with the spy.

That sounds good to me. I thought I might try to take on the Foreign Minister or Priest's tasks myself...

But I still have hope that this game will highlight it's better features... rather than the uglier ones.
