Pokemon DAYCARE: sensitIV

[ Your phone goes off, and an alert notifies you that it's TIME FOR GAME START. There's a map with GPS pointer showing your location as well as a static pin to guide you to where you need to go. You eventually find yourself inside the Pokemon Daycare. There's a main lobby area (which you find yourself standing in) a front counter, and then behind that a second inside area that's clearly meant for workers only. Here, there's a very large incubator with eggs inside it.

It's very obviously only recently been finished: the inside is an immaculate but bare white. Aside from yourselves, there's only one other person in the room as well as a strange, red, zippy thing that keeps going around the room. He dabs at his bald head. ]

"Oh, I'm so grateful you've come! Mizz 'Strael said you all would be just the right crew to help me get this place up 'n running. My name's Professor Plum. This is Rotom."

[ He gestures to the zippy machine, which makes a crackling, buzzy noise and does a twirl in the air that would probably pass for a chipper hello, if you spoke Pokemon. From another doorway, a large Pink pokemon walks in. ]

"Ah! And there's my other helper. Please say hello to Chansey!"

[ Chansey says its name and waves. ]

"I don't know if Mizz Strael told you or not, but--this incubator is a prototype for a new invention of mine. If we're successful today, we'll be able to reduce the time it takes to hatch Pokemon from days or even weeks to just a few short hours--it'll revolutionize the Pokemon world! But if I'm going to be successful, I'm going to need your help. If you don't mind, I'd like for us to go ahead and get started."

Whoa, that's a lot of options. Is a lab really safe for babies...?

Surely, it would only be decorating the walls. . . ?

Hopefully...

[Staring at that factory setting, too. His buddy just headtilts at all this.]

Well, a starry sky isn't too unusual, I don't think. Same with the sunny blue sky and clouds, or the botanical gardens or fields and farm.

Not unusual to us, at least, but would they be unusual to these children?

[ hum ]

Or, is "unusualness" something that matters. . . ?
bondsofsuffering: ([Think] out of it)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2020-11-28 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess I'm just trying to think of what would be good for kids based on what people normally do...

By the way, it seems Persephone would like botanical gardens the most.

Ah, I'm fine with what Ani-ue would like. I don't have an opinion either way.

A starry sky would be pretty, but I have no complaints against a garden.

Mm, a starry sky would be pretty.

[ agreeably, ]

It's easier to go outside and see the sky, but not as easy to go outside to a conveniently placed botanical garden . . .

You don't need to convince me or anything, you know.

That is, ah, a lot of options...

I gave my suggestions, but it really is a lot to pick from.

[Airi shyly peeks at the houndour. Persephone gently encourages her, but just lets her do what she want.]

I, ah, like the gardens...
bondsofsuffering: ([Smile] so threatening)

[Tentative tail wag? Pupper may look hell houndish, but she's a nice one.]

Botanical gardens would be especially beautiful, and probably calming for them, too!

[eventually Airi approaches, shyly, and Persephone encourages her with gentle praise.]

Very, ah, calming, indeed...

Kija suggested an underwater setting, and Lucifel and I don't have strong opinions on it.

[ Considering he has Whiskers in a mobile tank--]

My vote is for an underwater paradise. But I suppose this is meant for the babies...?

. . . . I'm not sure that a lab is a good location to raise anything in.

Re: DISCUSSION

Lucifel said it might just be a scenery thing, but I'm still not so sure laboratories, factories, or spooky cemeteries would be the best thing for babies.

What if we just took everything... and tried to get them out of here? Or protested that this is not a good location, no matter what that man said. It should not be a race to raise them, right?

Re: DISCUSSION

That is fine. I am not particularly attached one way or the other. As long as it looks suitable to the babies.

Especially if it is only decoration.
