[ Well, perhaps you mean to take a picture, but as soon as you try to do something as deliberate as that interaction, the garden around you seems to bend around your focus like distorting light—

And, all at once, in a flash of bright blue flame, it disappears.

Now, spreading out before you, is the true garden: a meadow beneath a sky that shimmers with the shifting rainbow of light, with the horizon stretching as far as the eye can see. As the colors merge into that horizon, they form a pure-glowing white. The meadow itself, filled with flowers, reflects the sky in its rainbow. In fact, one might notice that no two flowers are exactly alike in color or breed.

You yourself stand at an entrance: a gate of white metal that gives off its own light.

It feels as though one mystery—the mystery of where you are—is slowly beginning to resolve, but how you got here is still a wonder. It weighs on your mind, in the back of your throat like a lump, but at once, you feel as though the drowsiness still remains, and your eyelids feel heavy.

Some yards away, there is a single tree. Its swaying branches beckon you to rest beneath them, if only for a moment. ]

[He swallows, hard, against the lump at the back of his throat - at the beauty of the place, and all the shades of color blending into one, and at the fact that he knows none of it's meant for him]

[He takes a pic of this, too, with his eye-cam - and then, because he knows he'll want to remember it, another one, just to be sure]

[Then he takes a shaky breath in - ducks his head, and heads toward the tree]

[He hasn't noticed that his cheeks are wet]

[ No answer—you're just as alone here as you were before.
It's peaceful, though. Meditative, perhaps.

Unlike before, when you take the photos this place doesn't dissolve away beneath your gaze. It is more real than anything else you've ever experienced. ]

[He swallows again, with effort - presses on, meaning to pass the tree and come out the other side of the meadow]

[If Nem came this way, she had a head start]

[As good as it would feel to rest (god knows he's exhausted all the time, anyway), there are more important things]

[ You pass by the tree. Up close, you can see that its leaves are lush and green, but not of any species you can particularly identify. Actually, it's more like... the platonic ideal of a tree? (And still, taking a rest beneath its branches feels like the most natural thing in the world, somehow.)

But... "other side" of the meadow? This place knows no end.

...There is, though, that gate behind you, which certainly wasn't there in the original, illusory garden. ]

[He hesitates - sets a hand on the trunk of the tree, almost gentle. Then he pulls away again and turns toward the gate]
