[ Right before you manage to hammer your palm down on it, you see it begin to glow—beaten-in indentations in the floor trace out an array, an unknown eccestacial language spilling out across the floor. Beautiful and florid unforgiving script that, when looked at in the right angle, glows rather than being cast in the shadows.

You couldn't see before, the indentations being so slight, but the glow gives it away—

But you crack it, right at its weak point, and the glow disappears almost as quickly as it came.

With lack of fanfare, those affected can move again. The intensity of the burn and scrutiny fades and once more you can think without feeling the weight of your sins on your shoulders like Sisyphus beneath the boulder.

But even with it gone, the experience has keyed you into the sense that you should not be here for all that it is no longer actively trying to cast you out. ]
