THE GATES | THE COURTYARD | THE FOUNTAINS | THE GARDENS

Re: THE GARDENS
It bends to your touch, illusory, disappearing in a bright blue flame—beyond it, the real garden stands before you: a meadow beneath a sky that shimmers with the shifting rainbow of light, with the horizon stretching as far as the eye can see. As the colors merge into that horizon, they form a pure-glowing white. The meadow itself, filled with flowers, reflects the sky in its rainbow. In fact, one might notice that no two flowers are exactly alike in color or breed.
You yourself stand at an entrance: a gate of white metal that gives off its own light.
It feels as though one mystery—the mystery of where you are—is slowly beginning to resolve, but how you got here is still a wonder. It weighs on your mind, in the back of your throat like a lump, but at once, you feel as though the drowsiness still remains, and your eyelids feel heavy.
Some yards away, there is a single tree. Its swaying branches beckon you to rest beneath them, if only for a moment. ]
Re: THE GARDENS
He looks around. Did the whole garden vanish? Is that fountain still here?
Or is it just a gate and a tree, now? Where is he? What the heckies.
It's hard to think. He attempts to Energy Recharge himself to wake himself up.]
Re: THE GARDENS
What you see now is what's real though.]
Re: THE GARDENS
really
really
really wishes he could take a picture of this. Even with amnesia, he's certain this is the most beautiful and surreal thing he's ever witnessed in his life. He'll check his phone again for good measure, just in case. But if it doesn't work, he's going to try to commit this to memory the best his scrambled brains will allow.
He crouches down to touch the flowers. Reveal to me your secrets, flowers.]
Re: THE GARDENS
You know which two. Don't you?]
Re: THE GARDENS
Presumably Cobalt can tell which ones they are, though. He was thinking of picking one but these feel too important now. He gently touches its petals, then stands to make his way over to the tree to put his filthy hands on that, too]
Re: THE GARDENS
And the longer you linger, the longer that feeling tries to overtake you.]
Re: THE GARDENS
The calm, peaceful feeling does, at least, take the edge off the tree anxiety. The last time he rested under a tree like this he WAS resting in pieces and he's not entirely over that yet, it turns out.
So he's not like... looking directly at it, but more like sneaking up on it. Keeping it in his peripheral vision, the closer he gets to it. It IS a beautiful tree, though. Like the platonic ideal of a tree.
Is it possible to gently pick off a twig with a few leaves on it? He's going to try.]
Re: THE GARDENS
But you feel extremely uncomfortable doing so. There is a feeling deep within you that seems to say "ah, you should be kind to yourself."
And you feel a prick against your skin by the twig you picked, leaving two flowers against your skin.]
Re: THE GARDENS
i played myself
are these growing out of his skin?? ]
Re: THE GARDENS
Re: THE GARDENS
he tucks the twig into the bundle he's carrying and looks around.
This place is really pretty. He could consider sleeping here if it weren't for That One Time.
So instead he takes one final look around and heads back for the gate.]
