the feint slams into the ground again and again and again, and the stone starts to break, and there's a flare of light from the glyphs—

With lack of fanfare, those affected can move again. The intensity of the burn and scrutiny fades and once more you can think without feeling the weight of your sins on your shoulders like Sisyphus beneath the boulder.

But even with it gone, the experience has keyed you into the sense that you should not be here for all that it is no longer actively trying to cast you out. ]

Cardinal wipes the blood of their arm, looking pissed. They're leery of giving their sword away with the rate the blades were degrading earlier, so they pull a knife out of their boot and hand that to their feint instead.]
