Definitely a different atmosphere...

[ first, he's going to go up to one of the silver platters, picking up one of the trinkets to investigate. ]

[ The trinkets are just that: trinkets. Necklaces, bands, simply jewelry of gold and silver. They glisten in the sun, but staring directly at them will start to hurt your eyes - if you stare too long, you might get snow blindness. ]

[ he rips his gaze away when he starts to feel the strain in his eyes, shoving the trinkets into one of his pockets for safekeeping.

he'll examine the food on the platter next, pitcher included. ]

[ At first glance, it's not clear what kind of fruit they are and upon closer inspection, you realize the source of your own confusion: each platter is laden with an impossibly wide variety of shapes and colors. The fruits themselves—grapes, pomegranates, mandarins, species you can’t even name—are all vividly colored, as if fresh from some painter’s brush. How many kinds are there? Perhaps every kind? All of them are layered with a freckling of warm-glowing light.

Just like the fruit, the pitchers' metals are almost impossibly vivid. They’re golden, too bright to be real, but inside you can smell fresh milk. The sweet scent of honey wafts from another pitcher, and from another, fresh wine. ]

[ he'll pluck a couple grapes from one of the bunches and stick those in his other pocket.

everyone else seems to have the games covered, so he'll skip on those. time to move on—but first, he'll stop to examine one of the gates that's sealed shut. ]

[ The closed doors are made of the same materials as the front gate, but solid, rather than latticed, and perfect and pristine rather than scuffed. While there are buildings and towers around that stretch into the sky that suggest where the gates might go, their purpose is unclear.

After all, no one's been here; why would anyone need to go there? ]

in other words, is it possible to float over the gate with Verticality? 'cause if it looks like it might be, that's what he's doing. ]

[ Alas, there is not. There's only the one door that already stands wide open with any kind of space. ]

It almost feels like your bones are vibrating, your hand reverberates so hard when it strikes the material. Whatever this is, it's stronger than any mortal could possibly make themselves, even with hell powers at their disposal. ]
