he'll dip a finger (specifically using the hand he DIDN'T cast Harder They Fall on) in each of the fountains and see if he notices any difference in temperature.

it's cool, he's been dunked in holy water before. ]

[ The water in all the fountains is cool to the touch, though if you reach further in you can feel a warmth at arm's length beginning to radiate, as though the fountainhead itself was heated. ]

he dispels Harder They Fall (rendering his right arm temporarily limp and useless) before plunging himself all the way under the water, keeping his eyes open to see what it looks like under the surface.

also paying attention to see if it has any healing effect on his arm. ]

[ It doesn't seem to heal your arm, exactly, but it does seem to... nullify the effect of the power, in a way? Your arm reverts to its normal strength, but doesn't weaken.

Despite the water's coolness, it's not frigid; it's pleasantly cool, warmer to the bottom as though the fountainhead itself was heated. ]

he surfaces again, climbing out of the fountain and wringing out his hair.

well, since there's apparently some excitement going on out in the courtyard, he's going to try and head out back the way he came. ]

[ Well, you head back out to the hallway, but it stretches endlessly, it seems, to the point that your eyes begin to play tricks on you. The further you go, the more the hallway seems to twist, and you feel a sudden drowsiness— ]
