The world I am from is one in which there are individuals with special abilities. Those with special abilities are not acknowledged by the government and the majority of the population as they were deemed too dangerous after a war which ended less than 20 years ago and which nearly destroyed a number of countries, including Japan. For a long while, the only options for a person's livelihood in this place was: work for the government, work in street gangs, work for the mafia. More recently, the Armed Detective Agency was established to bridge the gaps.
I did not join the mafia for the same reasons others would. I don't remember why I ended up with the Agency.
