I think it is the other way around.

Guess I should mention now that Thorn and I had a conversation. He had a choice for target should he not make it. I'm inclined to give him his wish.

Though one question I have: why go after Loki and not one of the units with the better odds of getting their heart?

I can get not looking to win, but is it a grudge or something?

A grudge. You saw the way he defended Yasuragi without even a thought during the puzzle game. His brand of idiocy is one that puts everyone else around him in danger. Especially those on his unit.

If we have to target someone, might as well be someone we don't like.
