Toppling a fake god probably doesn't mean much to someone who's made real ones, but it means a lot to me.

Besides... you were probably looking out for my family the moment you found out I had missing memories, weren't you?

Oh toppling fake gods is always helpful I've found. I'm just not usually the one doing so.

[He gives him a squeeze and ruffles his hair.]

I kept an eye on them but they would have been just fine. Mad with worry and perhaps ready to topple all of hell for you, but fine.

Still. Being able to talk to you... it's nice. Reassuring. We all appreciate it - I mean, I know I do.

[He smiles to himself, warmed by the thought]

I know. I'd never doubt that every one of them would storm Heaven itself it they thought it stood in the way of bringing me back.

It's probably not my place, but - I've started to think of you like family too.

...Really?

It's fine if you don't feel the same, I mean - you're gonna outlive me by a billion years. I'm just happy thinking of you that way - if it's okay.

[He shakes his head, cupping Nero's face and kissing the top of his head.]

I'm quite fond of you. Family is a very distant concept to me these days, but I consider you someone precious. I do not remove my mask for just anyone, Nero. But you have impressed my at our every interaction.

[That gets a blush out of him - both the forehead smooch, and the compliment. Even if he doesn't feel like someone that impressive?]

Well, I have been accused of hoarding family members like it's going outta style.

Is that so bad? I am honored to be considered one of your family, Nero.

Only for anyone trying to keep track of who's who.

You could always do up a chart.

Would it be strange to say I an proud of you? Naturally I've had nothing to do with who you are. But yet you do inspire that feeling.

[Sputters a little in surprise?]

Well - technically Dad didn't either, apart from the genetic material - so if he's proud, I'd say you're allowed too...

You are strong. Not just of body, but your heart. In kindness, mainly. And while there are many things that trouble you, you work to overcome them. It is hard not to see you and think fondly.

[smiles with a small, fond sigh]

If I'm kind, it's only because I've learned it from others. Including you, with all the, 'maybe actually talk to people 'bout how you feel'.

A lesson it takes trying to implement on your own. No one else can dictate what you learn. Take the compliments Nero. I do look forward to seeing more of your life and growth, if I'm afforded that opportunity.
