Vergil's heart game r1

You feel weak, your body won't move no matter how you try, and you are falling, away from everything you know and love. Away from everything you need to accomplish. If you could just reach out, maybe you could hold on to it, claw your way back. But it's a useless endeavour, you fall unconscious, and your mind goes blank except for poetry and a familiar voice.

O mother Enitharmon, wilt thou bring forth other sons?

You wake on the ground in a cave, cold, wet, and sticky. It smells of rotting flesh. Your objective is clear, but you can't recall a name or face. Nothing else about your memory of him is changed, but for some reason the name "Vergil" just won't come to you, and you couldn't describe how he looks if your life depended on it. But at least your body starts to respond to your will, slowly regaining enough strength to carry on.

"Well as far as Hell goes, everything's going to try to kill you. I guess you've been doing pretty okay avoiding it so far though. It depends what you want to do. If you're looking for things, use the statues. There's something useful in pretty much every room the heart's going to let you go, though. Just don't be stupid."

I see. I was told to find two amulets and fight some suits of armor. Would you know anything about those goals?

For just a moment, he looks a bit afraid, but he forcibly pushes it down. "Angelos... They're all shut up in the throne room." He looks to the door.

"...And I think Dante has the amulets. In the Mirror World."

There's the two statues. The first is a many-armed stone statue of a woman with a snake's lower half, each hand holding a bright flame. She seems to speak in your mind when you stand before her.

I am the combat adjudicator. Only a dark-forged blade can move me.

She's not going to tell you. Just because a statue speaks to you once you think it's going to converse? Not all statues talk, okay, just some.

But it is, so, you know. You could do that.

[ now i, personally, know that you have to mega-combo these things to have it work but shahi has never played devil may cry so he just touches the sword to the statue to see like, what happens, before he goes all-in with "hit a stone statue with a metal blade". ]

It seems to react, a sort of reverberation through the stone. You're not even going to reach a D with just that but still...it feels kind of cool. Satisfying.

[ whaps it, since it seems like it's not gonna break the sword :o ]

Each strike builds that reverberation up, and the sense of satisfaction and total badassness does too.

When you've sufficiently wailed on it, the statue bursts into a geyser of blood -- crystallised into faces twisted in screams. You feel really stylish.

Looks like you got a sticker and 1000 red orbs. You know, assuming you want them.

A statue that appears to be made of gold and stained nickle. It depicts a woman with a lion's head, carrying a giant hourglass upon her back like Atlas. There is no sand in the hourglass, but something does seem to flow within it. The words inscribed below read "The Watcher of Time". When you approach it, a voice rings in your ears.

Those who desire to acquire the ancient ways of war shall offer the blood of monsters in exchange.

Tail bow a big red bow, you know, for your tail. It's very charming. 100 red orbs

Devil Star There's a far off rumbling noise...
Painting You feel proud, despite being completely out of your depth. Someone might be looking for this.
Flowers You're terrified. Or is this just how it feels being deeply in love? Maybe both. It might be difficult not to cry for a moment. But it's kind of lame to just give yourself a bouquet, sure you paid for it but are you just going to keep it for yourself?
Journal It's all hand written, and the writers the pieces are attributed to have some odd names. DMX? Tupac? Are these poems? Are we going to debate the validity of rap as poetry? No we're not, they're poems and you're going to appreciate them and the work put into getting this journal together. Well, maybe you won't that's your choice, but someone certainly would.
Violin A name was written on the back in black marker, but it's been scratched out. Even though this is clearly a high quality, expensive instrument. It's hard to shake the feeling of annoyance that comes with it.
Robes You put on your robe and wizard hat. And itchy fake beard. You feel stupid. Because this is stupid. And when you try to take it off? Well that's a shame because your actual clothes have disappeared, so, you might want to keep it on. At least if you wear the full outfit no one will recognise you right??

Don't worry, we're working on video game logic here, you can carry all this just fine. Congrats on built in bag of holding.
