You feel weak, your body won't move no matter how you try, and you are falling, away from everything you know and love. Away from everything you need to accomplish. If you could just reach out, maybe you could hold on to it, claw your way back. But it's a useless endeavour, you fall unconscious, and your mind goes blank except for poetry and a familiar voice.

You wake on the ground in a cave, cold, wet, and sticky. It smells of rotting flesh. Your objective is clear, but you can't recall a name or face. Nothing else about your memory of him is changed, but for some reason the name "Vergil" just won't come to you, and you couldn't describe how he looks if your life depended on it. But at least your body starts to respond to your will, slowly regaining enough strength to carry on.

When you take any of these books, you feel a rush of foreign thoughts and feelings. Though they belong to someone else, for a moment, you feel them for yourself.

You have your own thoughts and feelings, as it should be, but when you touch the book suddenly they're gone. Not even replaced by others, they just....aren't. You are only a shell, almost catatonic, just waiting to be told what to do. Except for something buried deep down behind plenty of mental blocks, some more insidious than that, magic in origin. This something sinks its claws into your mind when you start to notice it, whispering to you that this isn't right. You are not this, you're --

But you don't know what or who. You've started to scream from the visceral anguish of trying to remember, maybe guarding yourself from further pain if you did recall.

But you do come back to yourself shortly, left standing with that book just as you were. Its pages are all damaged beyond any recognition. You might make a word out here and there, but it looks like an animal shredded the insides while leaving the cover untouched.

I cannot promise to stay here forever, but I will explore and return to wherever you and Hades are. After all, I will want my mask back. And you will want whatever parts of yourself I find, I should think.

[Okay pulling him closer to inspect him carefully, concerned.]

Black having just some little demon thoughts, blood is good, glad even other types of demons who don't even know they're demons know it.

The moment you touch it everything around you changes. The blood and statues gone in an instant and in its place a void of bright blue light, almost blinding. There's nothing else here - except a tall, indistinct figure standing a little ways off, his back to you. He stares upward, quiet a moment before speaking loud enough to be heard.

Lahabrea can sense where the parts of this soul are.

[He points at the one of the statues, The Watcher of Time.]

That one accepts demons blood and is colored in the color of his soul. What that means, I do not know. The other statue, Combat Adjudicator, could provide demon blood but only responds to Yamato.

Lahabrea saw Yamato in the first room high above.

And far beyond is a unmoving, stagnant conglomeration of souls. What that means, I do not know.

Since Lahabrea can sense Vergil, and he requested it, I will stay with the boy. Though I will move around with him.

You can join, go with Lahabrea, or venture as you wish. Might I asked what you found to cause you to get a few scuffs?

There's a field of flowers, to the east. Accessing the place will make you drowsy. Unfortunately the flowers are also murderous and will pierce you with their roots and absorb your blood straight from your heart.

That's what I gathered as I was living it anyway. I suggest avoiding it.

Admittedly I don't enjoy being alone in this place but we might have better chances at doing something by going our separate ways. I do agree it's best for you to stay with the boy.

[He freezes at the memory. He's seen bits of it before, but living it is entirely different.

When he does move again, he absently pets the boys hair keeping the book and then heading towards the mirror.]

No, but it obviously has importance to you. Then again. This being hard to reach does work to your advantage.

"...You're keeping that?" He didn't feel the memory, but he does recognise that particular book. It's much more distinct than the others with the way it's torn.

The mirror is an oval shape, the frame highly ornamented, and while it only floats about two feet off the ground, it's a good five feet tall. Which makes the image reflected in it quite clear. You won't see yourself or the library in it, but rather another room entirely. Trying to touch it at all will make it quickly apparent this is a sort of portal to the world it shows.

Flowers. How unfortunate.

I would rather you not hunt for demons. As powerful as you are with my magics, I do believe I am better suited for the task. Though there is a pathway in the first room through the heart. Though I imagine that's his blood, but it could still have demon properties. No slaying of demons necessary.

[ He's trying to keep his shit together but the touch is welcomed - a little bit of comfort after the experience. ]

The grass was lavender, the flowers themselves were red. They grew as I was killed.

[He pulls his hood up and passes his hand over his face, a glowing sigil almost entirely obscuring his features.]

I shall wear this for now. You would prefer something tangible of mine to hold I imagine, even with Hades at your side.

[He sighs and kisses his head, pulling him into a tight embrace.]

I can handle a few Demons, Hades. But I'll admit you are more powerful than I am, so I'll concede.

[ he sighs ]

Would the sword only respond to him?
