You feel weak, your body won't move no matter how you try, and you are falling, away from everything you know and love. Away from everything you need to accomplish. If you could just reach out, maybe you could hold on to it, claw your way back. But it's a useless endeavour, you fall unconscious, and your mind goes blank except for poetry and a familiar voice.

You wake on the ground in a cave, cold, wet, and sticky. It smells of rotting flesh. Your objective is clear, but you can't recall a name or face. Nothing else about your memory of him is changed, but for some reason the name "Vergil" just won't come to you, and you couldn't describe how he looks if your life depended on it. But at least your body starts to respond to your will, slowly regaining enough strength to carry on.

[ Does that mean he's supposed to bring everything back home? He's not certain, but he feels like for now the best thing to do is to get things that may give Vergil a bit of joy.

So he buys the flowers, the journal, the bow, and after some consideration for the last item - the arm ]

I'll take it back home for you. Simply tell me which way it is.

Tail bow You feel extremely embarrassed. Do you have a tail? Maybe someone else wants it.
Arm You've got an extra arm now. Can never be too prepared. You feel pretty terrible. maybe because you just bought an arm from a magic vending machine, hope you're happy with yourself.
Flowers You're terrified. Or is this just how it feels being deeply in love? Maybe both. It might be difficult not to cry for a moment. But it's kind of lame to just give yourself a bouquet, sure you paid for it but are you just going to keep it for yourself?
Journal It's all hand written, and the writers the pieces are attributed to have some odd names. DMX? Tupac? Are these poems? Are we going to debate the validity of rap as poetry? No we're not, they're poems and you're going to appreciate them and the work put into getting this journal together. Well, maybe you won't that's your choice, but someone certainly would.

Most of these seem right, at least. There is a small rumble in the ground, and you feel a little lighter.

"It's through the Hell Gate, back in the cave. But I guess it's...at the centre? You could probably get there even though the gate's not open yet."

[ give him a moment that's too many feelings at once and he's genuinely overwhelmed. The arm was a bad choice in the end, but he supposes that's part of the whole thing - doing a shitty thing to do better next time is not something that should be discarded. It's part of him too. ]

Am I supposed to bring all of these to your home or should I —I don't know. leave them with you?

You should give the Flowers to Lahabrea.

"Lahabrea gave me the flowers, it would be weird to give them back, wouldn't it? But yes, they should go back to the house, I can't take them there. But finding them is good, I think that should open the Hell Gate if you get enough."

And since grandpas seem to be working together... He thinks about how it's going. "It's close."

I was simply thinking it should be him to place them back in your house, but that's fine. I'll take care of it.

So. We just have to open the gates and drop these there?

"Yeah, pretty much. Mostly just opening the gate, but it would be nice if things were where they should be."

I don't mind doing that for you, but I am wondering.

Why can't you go? If we open the gates could you come with us?

He shakes his head. "I guess because I'm not the right me. Because I don't get to go home anymore like this, I...wasn't good enough for it. But maybe the "me" you know, when I'm older. Then it might be okay."

[ on one hand he wants to tell him he's always been good enough. On the other he feels like that would cheapen how far he's come. ]

All parts of you are precious to me. I love you whether you're weak or strong and though you're strong on your own you're undeniably stronger still with those who love you by your side.

I'll make certain your older self will be able to go back home. But remember you are part of him too.

He doesn't know what to say for a moment, just nodding a bit eventually. "I know. I...love you too, Five. Please don't ever leave me...I wish you could just stay here."

I'm not leaving you.

[ he'll reach for his chin and tilt it up ]

I'll drop these at home and then be right back. Hades will stay with you in the meantime so you won't be alone, all right? You won't be alone anymore no matter what.

"...Yes. I'll wait with him, it'll be nice."

Now give him a minute because he's having a lot of feelings and needs to wipe his eyes before anyone can see him being a stupid kid crying over friendship.

[ He knows Vergil needs his space so he'll give him just that, all the more so since he'll be in Hades' capable hands.

And since he gave him a vague direction for where to go, he's going to try to cheat again and teleport "at the center" like he suggested ]
