Vergil's heart game r2
You feel weak, your body won't move no matter how you try, and you are falling, away from everything you know and love. Away from everything you need to accomplish. If you could just reach out, maybe you could hold on to it, claw your way back. But it's a useless endeavour, you fall unconscious, and your mind goes blank except for poetry and a familiar voice.
O mother Enitharmon, wilt thou bring forth other sons?
To cause my name to vanish, that my place may not be found,
For I am faint with travail,
Like the dark cloud disburden'd in the day of dismal thunder.
My roots are brandish'd in the heavens, my fruits in earth beneath
Surge, foam and labour into life, first born and first consum'd!
Consumed and consuming!
Then why shouldst thou, accursed mother, bring me into life?
You wake on the ground in a cave, cold, wet, and sticky. It smells of rotting flesh. Your objective is clear, but you can't recall a name or face. Nothing else about your memory of him is changed, but for some reason the name "Vergil" just won't come to you, and you couldn't describe how he looks if your life depended on it. But at least your body starts to respond to your will, slowly regaining enough strength to carry on.

Re: THRONE ROOM
He will animate shields to surround both Vergil and Emet. Though when it becomes apparent Vergil is not dealing well with this he'll find himself teleported onto Emet's shoulder without comment.
And mostly Lahabrea will concentrate on keeping crowd control on the Angelos until Emet has drained them all of souls.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
Huh. Strange.
He probably doesn't have his staff of Zodiark, so he can easily keep track and cradle Vergil in one arm until they are all very much not moving and the only color of Vergil's soul he can see is in the little boy.
Well, unless the puddle does, but that's a different problem.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
The last one reaches for Lahabrea's head, trying to drag you to the chains and empty suits along the wall. But it's a last ditch attempt, even it falls to your feet. No doubt thanks to Emet. That too, feels good. Being protected, and protecting someone you care for both. Vergil was looking awfully ashamed of himself in Emet's arm, but it makes him feel a bit better too.
The ground rumbles beneath you, not enough to throw you off balance or disrupt anything around you, but it is distinct.
The puddle doesn't have any soul colour in it, but how good at avoiding getting near it are you?
Re: THRONE ROOM
Re: THRONE ROOM
As for the puddle, the general idea is to avoid it, but he's girthy.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
Re: THRONE ROOM
"...I think you might be able to use the gate now." Lahabrea will still feel a few small whispers, but anything significant is gone.
And alright well we'll say you've avoided the puddle. But aren't you curious at all????? No? Can't imagine why you'd avoid it.
Re: THRONE ROOM
[He does ruffle Vergil's hair at the blush, leaving him in Emet's arms where he is safe! He is also indeed curious about the puddle. But maybe not with the child here?]
There are still a few things left here, are there not?
Re: THRONE ROOM
Welcome back, Five.
Do you imagine you will be needing my assistance?
[He's kind of asking the question to all of them.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
We need the amulet to open the Manor's door, otherwise we can't get in. I'd say the sooner we do that the sooner we can put everything in it place.
[ and then, to Vergil ]
Are you all right?
Re: THRONE ROOM
He does climb down, and hugs each of them in turn before taking the amulet off and offering it along with Yamato to...well whoever wants to take either of them. "I'm fine, and if you're going to the house...then you don't need to worry about keeping me company."
Re: THRONE ROOM
[He is considering the state of the throne room though.]
I think I will clean up in here first.
Re: THRONE ROOM
Nonsense. I said I will stay with you, and I plan on doing just that until this ends. Lahabrea can simply explore as he chooses and Five can as well. I have no problems taking a spot to rest. Is the library the most suitable place since you are unable to return to the house?
Re: THRONE ROOM
I won't be exploring for long. I'll make good on my promise to place everything back in the house and then I'll be back.
Re: THRONE ROOM
He loves these weird old men. "The library's probably safest."
Re: THRONE ROOM
And these are your friends. Well. If the three of you are going to be there in the end I will have no trouble finding you. I think I will stay in here a while. At least to clean it.
I don't suppose there are brooms anywhere one might enchant as a familiar for the task?
Re: THRONE ROOM
[He's being as sarcastic as possible as he kisses Lahabrea's then Five's then Vergil's cheek. And he will just hover by Vergil until he's ready to go back to the library.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
And now that the's got the right key, he'll leave to go back to the house ]
Re: THRONE ROOM
"I'm pretty sure Mundus didn't keep any brooms in his throne room. But good luck, I guess?" Have fun being weird, Lahabrea, Vergil's taking Emet's hand to go back to the library.
Re: THRONE ROOM
And maybe having a few of them poke the gross puddle to see if they can clean that too.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
I trust you will be fine if you happen to run into Mundus. If not, do come for backup.
[Then he will take Vergil's hand and go nap in the library with him.]
Re: THRONE ROOM
If I feel overmatched I will fetch you of course. Do have a nice nap together.

But nap time sounds great actually, that's also what he'll do rather than read. He's...very tired.
