Vergil's heart game r4
You feel weak, your body won't move no matter how you try, and you are falling, away from everything you know and love. Away from everything you need to accomplish. If you could just reach out, maybe you could hold on to it, claw your way back. But it's a useless endeavour, you fall unconscious, and your mind goes blank except for poetry and a familiar voice.
O mother Enitharmon, wilt thou bring forth other sons?
To cause my name to vanish, that my place may not be found,
For I am faint with travail,
Like the dark cloud disburden'd in the day of dismal thunder.
My roots are brandish'd in the heavens, my fruits in earth beneath
Surge, foam and labour into life, first born and first consum'd!
Consumed and consuming!
Then why shouldst thou, accursed mother, bring me into life?
You wake on the ground in a cave, cold, wet, and sticky. It smells of rotting flesh. Your objective is clear, but you can't recall a name or face. Nothing else about your memory of him is changed, but for some reason the name "Vergil" just won't come to you, and you couldn't describe how he looks if your life depended on it. But at least your body starts to respond to your will, slowly regaining enough strength to carry on.
Unless you're Glory, in which case the rest is the same, but you wake in a library.

Re: MIRROR WORLD: DEVIL MAY CRY
Voicemail's Nero talking about stuff back home. Mentions Glory and Raven specifically.
[he shrugs.]
So, by symbolism rules, this is a future where Vergil just goes batshit crazy and wrecks everything because he's a terrible guy and shouldn'tve even bothered.
Re: MIRROR WORLD: DEVIL MAY CRY
looks at jason, looks at herself, thinks about vergil,
:T ]
...well, that sounds like the kind of fatalistic thinking I could see from Vergil.
Re: MIRROR WORLD: DEVIL MAY CRY
[he rolls his eyes.]
Probably means we need to figure out where "home" is in the future. This's work. So. Gotta find Nero.
Re: MIRROR WORLD: DEVIL MAY CRY
But that does sound like the correct course of action, yes.

Any clues in the books over there...?

Interesting fantasy.
[time to look at the other out of place thing-- going to that couch to examine what the state looks like, and why it'd be clean while the rest isn't]
Re: MIRROR WORLD: DEVIL MAY CRY
There's a pillow and blanket folded up to one side of the couch together, like someone sleeps here. The shelf is full of books, and pretty well all of them are poetry, though the one currently sitting on top of the blanket with a bookmark in it is Autobiography of Red: A Novel in Verse by Anne Carson.
There's also a small photo album, pocket size, set on top of the shelf.
Meanwhile everywhere else, besides the pizza boxes and bottles of alcohol, there's a lot of paper. Random notes and receipts, but especially from pawn shops. There are a few notes bearing a different signature from the others, though it's too difficult to make out. All of these seem to be contracts and records for devil hunting.

That was his name.
[he will not read too much into it. books are books. you like what you like, you weirdo.
but, he'll take a look at the photo album next]
Re: MIRROR WORLD: DEVIL MAY CRY
As soon as you look away from the book it's gone again. Weird.
It's full, a little too full, some of the photos don't have a sleeve to go in so they're just loose in the centre. It's Nero and his family, both Kyrie and the kids as well as Shrike (no Jason, all my friends hate Jason), and then there's Glory and Raven, there's a few candid shots of the twins both fighting like petulant children and just casually sitting around in the motor home laying on each other. All combination of Spardas together, even Pistol makes a few appearances with everyone.
But that's just half the album, the other half is Five, Alexander and Cosmo, with guest appearances from other Baritones, Hargreeves, and Levity. Some look like they were taken in another world entirely, everything is very different, and the people there all wear masks like Cosmo's, and robes.
