As though drawn in by the banter and chatter, right on cue, Nemesis comes in through the door with Sir Ladyfingers and her puppy. She tries not to draw too much attention to herself, but the food piques her curiosity.
That's when Cardinal comes in through the door, with Amaranth following behind. They look like they’ve been exerting themselves, glad for a meal to regain their energy. Though Cardinal says nothing, the former-LiliS smiles warmly at Kohime.
One by one, everyone takes a seat at the table. As you sit down, the perspective of the room seems to grow longer, like a trick of the mirror - more placements, for more people.
Hawk is being bullied into trying to enact some fabricated avante eating ritual. Harpy claps her hands together and gives thanks for the food. Shishiou has plopped one of the Nyaitsu on his chair instead, and is hiding behind the back while puppeting the kitten into being a dinner guest. Lance is calmly passing condiments along. Kestrel is practically singing with glee, stars in her eyes as she shovels as much as she possibly can onto her plate. Kou is inspecting the food before taking his first bite. Nitro is wolfing down his bowl with chopsticks.
The chatter blends into a comfortable medley, infusing the dorm with a warmth that is unmistakably one of Home.
The illusion around you shatters again - and you are returned to the floating platform.
Gold and Nemesis’s statue dissolves - the spectral claws absorbing the red energy, and the sword absorbing the blue. The base becomes another pillar of light, spilling out from a portal to the next level.
Except the portal takes them to two different places.
