Nemesis Heart - R2
[The first time you try to open your eyes, there is nothing but red.]
[Questions bubble up, voiceless:
What will you keep?
What will you change?
What will you do?]
[And then your eyes open.]

HURRICANE
There is nothing.
There is no one.]
[Roll Spirit]
Re: HURRICANE
...hello?
Anyone here?
[One success, and one failure]
Re: HURRICANE
[Perhaps it's worth looking around...or maybe it isn't. Roll Spirit]
Re: HURRICANE
[He starts to walk, unable to shake the sinking feeling that this is all too familiar]
...anybody?
Nem?
Re: HURRICANE
long
time.
And then there's the glint of something, not quite as far as you feared.]
Re: HURRICANE
[He knows he shouldn't run - knows he needs to pace himself - but he starts off at a run, anyway, unable to tamp the impulse down]
Re: HURRICANE
The little squares become bigger and bigger as you approach. One turns out to be a shiny metal fridge, your approaching reflection clear in the polished surface.
The other, equally large, also has a mirror finish. But instead of your reflection, you see your teammates--your friends--on the other side.
What do you do?]
Re: HURRICANE
[He knows how this goes, after all. He has lots and lots and LOTS of practice. History says this was all just a dream; that he managed to get to sleep for a while, and imagined anywhere else, and now he's woken up again]
[That's all]
[But he remembers the numbers ticking down to that rendezvous, and the castle looming in the distance, and - well. He has to try, right? If there's even a chance any of that was real, he owes it to Nem to try, to be there when the countdown ends]
[He takes a shaking breath in - slams his fist against the opening, hard as he can, over and over again: one success, and one perfect match for his chosen number]
Re: HURRICANE
You can, if you wish, go through]
Re: HURRICANE
[He pulls it open, cautiously]
...guys?
