Nemesis Heart - R3

[The first time you try to open your eyes, there is nothing but red.]

[Questions bubble up, voiceless:

A latch? [Okay, looking, looking, and oh! That looks like a latch, let's try this.]

[The hatch pops open easy as anything, the airtight seal giving a faint hiss as it breaks]

[The cockpit is more complicated than Hurricane's...in that there is actually room for any controls, though simple--a couple manual releases for purging armor, backpack, the extra plasma stores that keep you from being able to fully insert your left arm, if that had been something you'd wanted to do. Some control sticks for basic movement and space for a very simple heads-up display. A thick cord connected to the chair around neck height, not completely unlike one of those old speaker jacks.]

[Reaching for what's on the seat, you find it's a brown bomber jacket, the leather soft and weathered with maybe thirty years of hard living.

It smells like hair oil and cigarettes and something else that twists in your gut, painfully familiar. But even if it wasn't given to you, you wonder if you'd feel stronger if you wore it.]

[ she was HOVERING JUDGINGLY behind the boys as they investigate, so leaning in to peer at that... ]

A jacket?

[Oh gosh, SO MANY THINGS.]

[He's definitely giving all this stuff a good look over because he wants to draw it later, but he doesn't really have time now, but SO COOL *_*]

[Oh hey, jacket. That....is a feeling, huh???] Its got a weird feeling on it.

[Experimentally putting it on, does he feel stronger????]

[The jacket is a little slouchy and old, but warm. You do feel a little stronger.]

[Actually, yeah, this jacket is definitely his style. Even the smoky feel, he's used to smoke, and jackets are cool.]

Huh. I guess it's kind of like Hotel room. Special items do...something.

[Okay, he'll take a look around. Cobalt is messing with display. Let's see, he saw Nemesis talk with this thing in her memory, can he get that radio active again?]

she'll leave them to it, then-- the jacket isn't that familiar-- and head back to the courtyard to see where else there is to go. ]

[She can explore the park, or she can check out the castle!]

[He'll let Rye have the jacket, since it was his hard work that got the door open.]

[Idly, though, Cobalt checks the back of his own neck to see if he woke up with a port or jack or whatever it's called back there this time.]

[Your neck is just a normal neck! Your hair is probably very soft; Cobalt seems the sort of person who knows what conditioner is]

[Does this suit have power? Is this a real suit, or just a model? He's going to attempt to pull up some kind of HUD using his hazy memory of how things worked in Hurricane's heart, even though his own power suit was totally different.]

[Things were a lot more intuitive when he was mind-melded with machines.]

[That does make it easier, though there are some simple controls... Roll some dice to see what you can do with them, make a case for yourself]

[Ummm his default dice, +1 for having seen something like this before?]

[I rolled two, and the first succeeded and the second failed. So however many dice he wound up rolling, he did actually manage to succeed somehow it seems?]

[It's a little flickery and out of focus, but not too bad for something you know is meant to be projected directly into the brain.

There are a couple dots on the radar, though there aren't really any points of reference for them.

There's a triangle that seems to be approaching slowly from the south]

[Oh no. Triangle. A very foreboding polygon indeed.]

[He feels like he could probably spend all day messing around with this suit and have only dubious success, and the clock's ticking. So unless there's anything else in here that catches his eye, he's going to climb down and go... uh... what's around.... to the park. He'll go to the park.]

It looks like we need to find special items for bonuses to...stuff. Like the Hotel.

Well, good luck to all of us, then. If there's stuff like that around, I don't really like what it implies.
