let's crack that one open and have a nice comfy seat in a chair. ]
Re: Albireo
[ You sit down, sinking into the chair—it conforms to your body flawlessly, comfortably.
As for the book - it's is a whole shelf’s worth of volumes, but as you pore through just one of them you find all of the information easy enough to consume, taking far less time than the amount would imply, in no small part due to the contents. More than a book on being a human, each one is composed of various ruminations on the subject:
For example—how is one meant to define that word, “human?”
Aradia has—you have examined countless volumes of text on the matter yourself, and come away with nearly as many questions as answers.
Should it be considered a matter of form, that any shape bearing the model of Homo sapiens sapiens is by consequence a human? No. With desire and effort, there is nothing that could not take human form.
Then is it a matter of mentality? They each are so very different, so precious, you have come to feel, that there could be no one “human thought.” However those that are not human may hold their own feelings, endemic to them, there are none which are beyond the capability of men.
But, then, perhaps it is something best considered from that point. If something inhuman, if you as a witch are to be defined by your function—here, to love1 indiscriminately—then what could be in opposition to that, but selfish feelings?
Perhaps it is different for each of you, but for yourself it must be this. The divine do not long, do not yearn, and so it follows that to do so is the domain of others.
And so, you cannot be human. You can not be human.

Re: Albireo
Scratching off the fluid just reveals an addition to the final bit, Yet you find besides your care, yearning and adoration growing ever stronger— ]
Re: Albireo
Correct that this is no matter of form, nor of thought adhering to particular patterns, though the vessel and the habits may change thought—
Does the divine not also yearn? The elemental, perhaps not, but from the passion and thunder of the classical gods to the Christian concept of a God that longs to understand mortal life?
As something inhuman, my function is something I hate: to devour, to cull, to destroy, to manipulate. Is it required of you, to act according to your function always?
She pulls some of the series called "Witch" off the shelf next to examine. ]
Re: Albireo
For example—how is one meant to define that word, “witch?”
Aradia has—you have examined countless volumes of text on the matter yourself, and come away with nearly as many questions as answers.
If we consider a witch to be simply one capable of using magic, then there are a great many in your midst. How lovely it is to have peers, but to you it feels incomplete.
There are those texts which claim witches to be evil. That they are always women, ever drunk on their inequities, spreading malady with each continued breath. However clearly the case could be made for you, your sister may claim no such sin. She has never done anything wrong.
So, then, it is not enough to use magic. So, then, the sins committed are irrelevant. But—
But, should one consider a witch to be of divine marrow, to hold lineage shared with the world itself, then doesn’t that make sense—your profile did call you a goddess, and your mother graciously links you together with your sister, with your siblings.
And that function of the divine—divine to adherent, like witch to familiar—is to receive, and offer in kind. That you know well, feel you knew before the recollection even occurred, deeper than even your cells.
And so, as a witch, a fragment of the celestial will will, are to offer your love1 to each familiar in equal measure. Such is the thought that has risen to the surface, of each of your hypotheses (time and life and memory and body each so relative, one billion years could very well reflect far less, and who are you to make claims as to your appearance? Who are you?)—the one which collates the past you have been told, the past that you have seen, and the future ahead.
There’s comfort in your definition, and so no need for you to think on it any further. You anchor yourself in your findings—you try to anchor yourself in your findings—and apply them to your present.
Your mother and sister, your peers—are all waiting ahead of you. All that you need is to follow their example.

Re: Albireo
Do you consider yourself to be the same person as you are in your memories? I wonder how much each person does; I imagine the answer is quite different for every one.
Surely, that person had cruelty in her, as do all sentient beings. But I would surprised to see you described as cruel, as you are now, and I think I am a very good judge of character. In fact, each time I have met you, I have been thankful for your kindness.
Time to be nosy now and look at the "Relationships" books. ]

Red, Eater, Amy, Ruby, Lucifel, Doodleman, Whisky, Solomon, Glory, Sabre, Requiem, Raven, Wataru, Lance, Pharaoh, Ophania, Glaucus, Sashay, Talon, Hope, Leviathan, Vergil, Shishiou, and so on . . .
Really. It does seem to be every single person in the game. Plus -
On top of the shelf itself, books with the labels of Gio, L☆ve, Wil, John, Marie, Louise, Theo, Daisy, Aster, Susan, and Margaret, all piled onto each other. Seems like they’re separate? ]
Re: Albireo
........all right, well, she's going to start with that one. ]
Re: Albireo
It's a sparse, if pleasant read, in keeping with the relative youth of the relationship; the subject in question is one that Aradia—that you have come to feel a fondness for. This child, this person, has become quite dear to you. It does not quite surpass the bounds of what would be expected, but -
How to describe it? She is well-read, serious yet kind—even understanding the particulars of their circumstances she endeavors, so you feel, to be kind. You can find it nothing short of admirable, the way that she has chosen to live her life. You could listen to her talk forever.
At least, so it has seemed to you. You do wonder what you could do in kind. ]
Re: Albireo
well, she can't help but be a bit flustered at reading something so earnest? honestly there's something very flattering about someone who could listen to you talk forever—
time to pick another one; she's interested in the separate top shelf, but first she just wants to look at Sashay's. ]
Re: Albireo
No, this beast, so they would call themself, is a familiar passed down to you from your mother, and one wounded greatly. It isn’t something that you have discussed at great length but you can determine nevertheless that they have suffered a great deal. It is unrelated, but at times, you see reflected in their words your own likeness1.
No, not quite. You could very well speak of them as a cup, but that is far from the only information you’ve come to glean. They may very well be a charge in your care, but their knowledge and experience both reach far beyond your own; it is to be expected in your circumstances but there is something to admire in their strength, in their erudition, that always strikes you.
But above all else there is the matter of those wounds. You are—troubled. Your venerable mother2 would never have allowed any harm to befall one that she chose. Luna3 would put forth her best efforts to make amends for harm that befell one that she chose. You know this, earnestly, but she is not here, and so the responsibility falls to you. And that is—fine, you welcome this familiar into your arms openly, but.
The fact stands that you don’t quite know what to do. How can you help them? How can you be of use?
… All told, it radiates a sincere admiration and intent. Still, she’s a little troubled.
Putting that aside, there are passages that seem edited out with correction fluid, but it’s done so thickly you could probably scratch it off. ]

Re: Albireo
It's a hefty, if pleasant read; the subject in question is one that Aradia—that you have come to feel a particular fondness for, even among your love1 for everyone. Really, there’s no equal; this is your younger sister, a peer with whom you yearn to stand on equal footing. She is immaculate.
Not to say she’s perfect—even when you lived under the same roof you could see her heart swirl and shift like the colors of a kaleidoscope, but all the same, you love her. You feel no hesitation in claiming freely that you adore her, the very pinnacle of charm and intelligence and cuteness; if you can find anything to enjoy in your own appearance at all, it’s because of your resemblance to her. If you could only live your life by her example as well, become a witch that she can feel pride in calling her elder sister.
Though, every day—her worries weigh on your mind more with each passing day. Your selfishness weighs on your mind more with each passing day2.
All told, it radiates a sincere and sort of syrupy admiration, sickly in its sweetness even as she reflects on her faults—in as much as she even does that. Really, it’s a lot of “Red is the best and cutest and perfect and okay maybe she’s not perfect but she's as close as you can possibly get seriously just look at her I really admire her I hope she’s okay”
Still, she’s a little troubled. ]
