Good Cause Simulator: BAD END=DEAD END (saturday)

[ You’re in a sleek room full of all kinds of sci-fi dials and knobs. You feel like you’ve been here a long time with these people around you, and that you have a lot longer to go before this is all over.

You can hear the distant sounds of the station creaking due to shockwaves from the fighting outside. What is going on in this galaxy? Well, it’s not very important to you. What’s important is surviving.

You have a job to do. ]

Yeah. Let's skip the laser.

If prosperity's our highest stat, though, we're gong to lose sustainability. Is that okay?

What happens if we have two stats equal as the highest stat? Do we know that?

They both count as the highest.

Aha. Well, we'll have automatic losses in readiness, and it reduces a lot of problems for us, so perhaps we should allocate slightly more of our points to readiness.

Hmm... that makes sense.

Yeah... that seems like a good idea.

7-3?

Works for me.

I'll go turn it in.

Are we okay with not paying taxes?
widenessofthesea: (we are not hearing something different)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] widenessofthesea 2021-02-21 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Given the state of things it's a little unreasonable that we should have to pay taxes to this degree. Especially since we're not seeing any benefits of a tax-supported society.

Well. Let's see if I can get them to support us some other way.

Re: DISCUSSION

That's true... we might want the readiness more then.

And we have the events to think about too. For the second one... I want to take action. Nothing will be accomplished doing nothing. The first one though is a bit more difficult.

Re: DISCUSSION

We have to relieve the suffering of the poor under our care, to be sure. We can start with that, and perhaps we can capture some additional ships to affect further change.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] overworker 2021-02-21 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
That's true... if we take action to relieve our own suffering early on we might be able to take those supplies and possibly even additional ships which could help with the second issue at large.
widenessofthesea: (what failure still keeps you)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] widenessofthesea 2021-02-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, we need to be able to have the resources and tools available to help others first. We can't take care of the rest of the galaxy when our own are still suffering.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] overworker 2021-02-21 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
You're exactly right. I'd like to make sure whatever we take we do so peacefully. Killing anyone shouldn't be necessary as long as we can keep them subdued long enough to get what we need.
widenessofthesea: (among us the unfinished)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] widenessofthesea 2021-02-21 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
We can drop them off somewhere peaceful.

If we're going to go the space pirate route, I want to make sure we target people who can afford to lose it.

I'm a huge fan of the space pirate route.

Re: DISCUSSION

I agree. Go after those who have the most, who can afford to lose it without suffering too terribly for it.
justfuckingtryit: (Across the skies)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] justfuckingtryit 2021-02-21 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Mm. We should do some research first, see if we can't target some asshole who really has it coming.
